Title: silverwood first time out
Post by: Tomanyprojectz on May 12, 2012, 04:50:07 PM
whats up everyone , just thought i would share my first time out on my boat at silverwood... i have to say everything went well
it was a little fusrtrating in the morning cuz the jet a vator got stuck!!!! in the up position. messed around with it for about an hour before i figured it out... there was air in the lines.... i cracked one of the nuts loose near the acuator and just a weee bit of air came out lol and it fixed it... kinda weird but whatever the lines do need to be replaced. i will post the other problems in the proper forum... but man! the boat ran pretty damn good, couldnt be happier.  I had alot of fun today with it! very cool, saw some other guy in a jet boat which im sure hes around on SCJB forum.... he came by me for a lil race and got my ass handed to  haha.  :-\... i didnt give it all it had because i have a very bad problem with the boat losing control at high speeds and did not want to ruin the day by hittin him .... but he still would have beaten me it was a fast boat that was full!. 1 thing i do know is .... my wife CANNOT drive a jet boat for shiz... ::)

Still, at your own risk. Mine aims for rocks & docks.

i went last weekend, waters not too cold.  if it was warmer it would have been refreshing.  i will say tho my boat ran so much better at the river (big river) this weekend!!!

I've been meaning to check Silverwood out. Seems like a really cool place. I have lived in north orange county all my life and never been. Haha. Any one ever camped there?

Man I wish i could go out at least once a week ... money Is tight right now. Silver wood has a really cool camp ground ..I don't think they have RV parking either so its real camping!.. camp grounds are small but cool right off the lake.  My only problem with silver wood is the winds in the afternoon on the lake. If you have a full day of no winds.... your lucky

Yeah, "real camping" is what it's about. And that's cool, most lakes get blown out later in the day. I'm pretty used to that. Get out early get everything done. Hang out a minute then tube the way back in.

How much were the entry fees to get on the lake? The last time I was there the fee was $16 I think.

Last weekend it was 20 bucks... maybe 5 bucks more because of the boat inspection? I don't know ...  there was also a fishing tournament that day. ... I went in without a reservation and it was pretty busy... their website does say reservations only through summer months ..
