Whats the inside word Keith ?
When did you get the scoop.
And by the way what are you for filtration ?
I'm having trouble figuring out enough cfm with anything that fits all up in
there.

I'm still running the two K&N's I was running before, just hiding inside the new scoop.

Sure would be nice for a southern boating event be held in southern CA..... Oh wait the YPT is coming up!

Keith, do you think they flow enough cfm. The ones I found were about 450.
But they're probably still more than my flame arrestors. I have been looking for something that will fit inside the scoop.

Hey I'm curious what kind of rubrail is on your boat. Is it solid 1 piece stuff? I need to come up with something bad.

Thanks Danny, now that I've spent most of a hour searching the K&N catalog and web site trying to find CFM ratings  :banghead:

I've e-mailed k&n tech to see if they'll tell me max cfm for the filters I'm running.

. It is three pieces I got it from a guy that works at G&S marine he sells it out of his house. He has two sizes and a few colors. I gave 300.00 for it. This was the first time I put new on I figured it out on the last corner. It's not hard and came out nice.

Keith did K&N ever answer ?
I went through some notes and found that both TBS and BDS sell the
5 3/4" X 3" and the BDS tech says flow rate is 414 cfm. TBS says good for 1000 hp, uhmmmm ???

The filters I'm running are #E-3403 that were part of the 7" air cleaner assembly #60-1330.  According to K&N these filters flow an estimated 396cfm each.  My engine at 95% efficiency (not likely) only requires about 700cfm total.  Yours being boosted will be different.

Keith,
I searched high and low for CFM ratings for K&N filters a few years ago.  No luck. :(
I called K&N and asked to talk to a tech/engineer.  The engineer I spoke to looked in their data base for CFM flow ratings, thus the reason I am using the filter that I have on the carb now.   8)  Over 900 CFM for my AED 850 Holley double pumper.
Good luck.

Just run washable foam prefilters on a flame arrestor.

Any idea on what a standard Barbron
5 3/4" X 3" arrestor flows ?  I haven't been able to find any info on them.
The pre filters sound like a excellent idea !
