OK fitted flexfit hats ???  never ordered those type, so school me :screwy:

Flex fits are the bomb, the have an elastic type headband that acts a lot like a worn out underwear wasteband and the hat material is a little stretchy too, they are very comfortable and seem to stay put, not to mention don't have the shoe buckle on the back........

Ok, heres the story.

Skip came to me asking if he could drive the production/sales of some SCJB hats....

my responce was along the lines of 'why bother?' The reason being is that I have gone out of my way to make SCJB products (shits, koozies, etc) and people bitch about that they dont like the style, color or say its too expensive and I end up only selling maybe 25% of my stock...and end up giving away the rest at a low price just to break even. Thats what happened with the first batch of SCJB shirts. I had over $700 invested in those shirts, i made maybe $500 off of them.

So when skip entertains the idea of investing a few hundred bucks into some hats, it made me cringe. So we came up with the idea of a pre-sale kinda deal and look where it left it...."i want to see it before i buy it"...or "$25 NASCAR hats makes me cringe". Everyone here is entitled to their opinion, thats fine. But you guys also need to know where I am coming from on this as well.

The reason skip jumped to the offer to drive this hat thing is because the cost of the site is really taking its toll. My cost is about to double because I have to move this place to a bigger hosting package. I am hitting the roof of my limits with my current hosting package. Growth is great, but lets be realistic here: this place is just not making me money. I wont go into specifics, but I only make about 15%-20% of my monthy costs back on google ads and shirt/sticker sales.

With that said, I am standing firmly behind the price of $30 shipped for the hats. (its going to cost us $5 to ship it)

With this, you get to pick your size, color of hat and color of stiching. For extra, we can do custom stitching on the back if you want your name/username/etc on the back or side.

$30 for a 1-off custom hat? I personally think its a deal.

Well in that case....I need a black Xl hat and a black XL tee, if black a no go on the shirt I will take white....nocando red....starting a new job in a week, so need to be somewhat moneywise for a couple months... :sly:

im going to pay the $30 price before shipping for all the hats. i love the idea of the custom stitching that i will be taking a part in. as you well know brad im a supporter and i buy all kinds of SCJB.com stuff. one because its bad ass and there isnt anything out there like this. i just think that the members on this site have to know that its not free and that the only thing that should keep it going is members not MEMBER . plus if you go buy a hat of your favorite football team, nascar team, baseball or what ever you pay for it because you want to support and repersent and not always will you get the same quality that i know we are going to get. My shirts for example are the best t-shirts i own and i have now 6 of them they dont shrink, lose color, and get shitty period. My stickers are the best stickers out there with the best quality and most of all its all going for a good cause. so everyone reading this im sure you can all spare 30 bucks, just hold off on that 30 pack. thats my .02

I have a BIG head (7 3/4, 7 5/8 depending on maker) but if the hats are the right style and fit I will take 2. I like the $25 price better also. $15 sounds awesome  ;) but since they support the site I dont mine paying a premium.

Hats will be

Here's a little sizing guide to help you fellas out.

Hat Sizing Chart

How do I know the right hat size?

Use the below chart to convert inches to hat sizes.

Got a tape measure handy?

Step 1:     Measure your head with a tape measure (provided by, yes, you've got it, YOU!), fitting it comfortably about one inch above your ears.

Step 2:     Take note of your size - write it down if you must!

Step 3:     Read this handy chart that converts inches to hat sizes.

Inches        |21 1/4  |  21 5/8   |   22  | 22 3/8  |  22 3/4  |  23 1/8   |  23 1/2 |

Flex Fitted  |      Small / Medium       |      Medium/Large  |           Large/XL

Once you have the size, write it down, when you send your money, send a note with your size, we'll make sure you get the size you need

Brad I didnt have any qualms about the price, and on my post i never did finish what I was saying. To me the 30 shipped to your door was fair. I am all for keeping this site going. I know alot of folks want to get what they can for next to nothing, me included, but I also know that it takes alot to keep keep a site going, including the members contributing. I did say that I wanted 2 hats before all was said and done, and am still wanting that. With that said, thanks skip for the sizing chart, because I'll be dammed if I go to a mall  me and malls are like oil and water :screwy: The other question I had was you mentioned color of hat and embroidery, I thot it was just black.   Mark

If it takes $30 to help out the site, then thats cool. I still want 2, just wanted to see the prototype as my big a$$ head doesnt fit most hats, even some flex fits.

I'm down for a $30 hat.   Black hat would definately be preferable to red or white IMO.    $30 is high cuz afterall, its just a baseball cap.  On the other hand, the price is comparable to what you would pay at a concert, race, etc.  AND it helps keep the lights on here at SCJB.com

The shirts always seemed a little "busy" to me, and just not something I had to have.
And it is just that I am a lazy ass about ordering some coozies.        Gotta remember to do that . . .

It appears that we can get XXL sizes, waiting on a call back to confirm, in the meantime here's a sizing chart for y'all to follow (this one's way easier to read)

Here's how to use measure your melon:
"Hat Size - How to Determine Your Hat Size
Measure Your Head: Measuring for your head size is both an art and a science. You can use a tape measure (or a length of string that you will have to hold up to a tape measure) to determine the length. Place the string or tape around your head about 1/8” above your ear, across the mid-forehead, completely circling your head. Hold the tape firmly, but not too tightly. Basically you need to measure your head exactly where the hat will sit. If your measurement falls between sizes, choose the next largest size.

Compare: Another valid method to determine hat size is to try on a hat and check the size. If you don’t own a hat, then try on a random hat next time you are visiting a shop that stocks hats. Sizes, even though they do vary depending on the hat maker, are technically universal. You may refer to the sizing charge below if you need to convert a medium to an actual hat size.

Please understand that hats are are not unlike other apparel, in that sizes can vary somewhat from one manufactuerer to another. We cannot guarantee that by following these instructions any assurance of a perfect fit."
