Anybody ever spin their jet boat?

My boat tracks pretty well, but at higher speed when I turn sharp I can flirt with the pump breaking loose from the water. I don't want to spin it because I don't think a 21 footer's transom will do well going backwards at 30mph with a big block trying to dunk it.

Really lame question I know,  but I'm probably going to keep pushing the envelope until I do a 180 or better.

I was going parallel to a wake came over the top and dug in haaard. Spun us 180, stalled. Huge wave came over the bow. I started it up quick and got on plane. There was a good 2" of water in the floor and it took a while to pump it out.  Wife was laying in the back and somehow held on. I'm really surprised she didn't get tossed. It happened in a blink of an eye. Scary shit.

Spinning in a jet boat up on the rocks at well over 75 mph is why I quit river marathon racing.

Broke a tiller arm at speed on the lower Rogue River and went to test rock samples. Found some rocks large enough to park a boat on about 30' from the waters edge.

Had a one and a two year old kid. Let's just say the decision to quit was made for me.

I used to spin ths Bahner on purpose. Going about 40, turn right, get off the gas, as soon as it starts to feel squishy, blip the throttle and around she goes.

Makes passengers pee themselves.

Spun our 20' Advantage out twice the first season. First time wide open 50+ mph, second time only around 35. Went backwards for a long time before the back of the boat dropped back in the water. Then hammered it. Took it back to Harry and they dropped in a fin and no problems since.

I'm going to continue to play with the maneuverability factor. I'm going out Saturday to Elsinore and taking a friend who just bought a boat.

I'm really not wanting to spin the boat, but I'm looking for the sweet spot in powersliding, just a little bit.

I've spent too much time on wave runners and stand ups before I bought the boat. I bought another stand up Superjet for the meantime to quill the thrill of getting a little crazy. I want to give some heartbeat to my boating... But I don't want to sink my boat or drown any passengers.

I do want to scare the crap out of one passenger. I drove his little outboard out of the no wake at Puddingstone on Sunday, when I hit the first U turn and his boat leaned, he grabbed the dash and screamed what's happening! Lol, I said, Jesus H... I'm just turning the boat.. the banking in a turn is part of it.

Yeah I've spun the race boat out in the turns at 70~ ish. Been slammed around, thrown from the boat. I even caught a roller at wide open throttle, launched into the air, hit the down pedal to level the boat, ended up nose diving into a hole in the water at 97mph, spun the boat, slammed into the dash, bent the steering wheel and shaft and had a black and blue bruise from the center of my stomach to the center of my back. Luckily my lifeline race jacket saved my ribs from breaking!!!
