lasers are definitely fun. Used to work on ones that would direct write on silicon. 
 
your mother says: be careful though as in the eye you will have serious problems and it can be surprising what will reflect the dang beam. Plus, in Az there was an arrest for directing the beam at plane traffic (not me honest :-)
 Since you have what some police may consider a weapon (see you in court) you may be unpleasantly surprised at the response you get if a Leo shows up.
