WHICH WATERSKI??????????
« on: March 16, 2008, 06:42:30 PM »
The two I have specifically in mind are the H.O. Sports Triumph and the Mach 1.

Looking for an intermediate to advanced ski for my pops and I to use. I am 5'10'' 170, pop's is 6'2" 250. So a 69" ski seems appropriate for both. Dad is advanced, I haven't been skiing since I was 13-14 so I'm hoping to be intermediate by the end of the season.
In the meantime I've got Japan's 2nd rank slalom skier in 1997 coming out with me once a week starting in two weeks. He moved here and doesn't have a boat, works out for both of us.

See if you can find a local ski shop that will let you demo them, and take all the rental $ and apply it to your purchace. That's what I did from marine products.

Just got a hold of the connelly rep for my part of So Cal... Apparently my friend has known him for years and didn't say anything until i told him I wanted a new ski yesterday. So we'll see what he comes up with for a price.

I'm here. I have skied on a Kidder KD5000 for the last feew years. I love it. It is a little advanced but skis like a dream. The KD7000 kicks ass but scared me . A little too "whippy" for my style. I would think a ski that would be good for you and your pops would be hard to find. Get pops a "big easy" and get yourself something else. Hope this helps. Good luck with your Connelly hook up.

I don't know sh!t about Connely but HO makes bindings that can be swapped between sizes in seconds. My wife and I can use the same ski while still retaining our own sized bindings. Its much cheaper to buy 2 bindings than 2 skis.  I have loved just about every HO or Jobe ski I have ridden, and I have owned more than half a dozen of each.

Thanks guys. Despite being heavy, he's actually a really good skier. He was doing the course on a Connelly F2 at 25 off about 5 years ago. Now he's gained 20 lbs but is still beyond the fat man skis... I'd really like to go with the HO's. Luckily we wear the same size shoe.

That's what I was calling you about Bob. How much are those KD5000's running?

Not sure. I havent seen a new one in a while. When I got mine I think I paid about $500.00 with the bindings. I almost pooped myself. Look up Endo's waterski works in Long Beach. Its a total shit hole but they have good stuff.

Thanks for the input guys. I ended up with the HO Triumph for $200 through the HO rep with bindings. And a set of Accurate brand gloves.
