Not exactly live or boat related but this past Saturday was the third round of the D37 Grand Prix season. I failied to finish the first round in Taft, CA because some mini rider took me out 2 miles into a 25 mile race and wrecked my bike in the process. The second round was 15 minutes away at Glen Helen but my son was in ICU for a 10 day stay so I stayed at the hospital that weekend. Saturday the race was at 29 Palms which is my favorite track but also where I blew up a motor on that mile of asphalt they have. Since last year I have installed a 400 in place of the 250 but lost a gear in the process. 4 speeds are not the hot ticket on long straights so I was tense a lot, but things held up well and I managed to win my class. Next month is Primm which promises some serious desert action which I am definately looking forward to. It has been a long time since I raced in the desert, but I'm not gonna miss those mudholes or Glen Helen's ridiculous hillclimbs and descents. I'm still smiling

because it took a ton of work to get things fixed on the bike and a lot of new stuff didn't fit, so I am back to racing with about 5 inches of travel. But hey its Vintage. The original Old S'cool !
