Hey I'm new to jet boats looking to buy our first one a 1978 21ft Southwind mini day cruiser just wanted some general opinions on the boat anything will be helpful.

Great hulls IMO, but with these older boats there are a lot of possible issues.... From wood, to motor, all the way to trailer... Post some pictures and specs so we know what you're working with.

It's actually members boat on here he seems like a honest great guy so were pretty set on getting it just wanted to know some background on the brand always liked the look it... It will have a stock 454 when we get it he's done a lot of work recently to update the boat new interior including floor gauges steering wheel etc.

I absolutely love that boat!!!! I met a fiberglass specialist who's been in the industry for a long time, and he was telling me he hasn't seen too many hull issues with the Southwinds. Best of luck to you man!

That's great news thanks! We're very excited to get back on the water!

I know that personally and it's a great boat. It's a turn key boat everytime. Scott is a good friend of mine and I know how much he had done to it. It's practically brand new. New interior, floor, electrical, plumbing, radio and the list goes on. Perfect first boat and perfect last boat.

That's great to hear! He seems like a stand up guy that wouldn't try to screw anyone over, thanks for reassuring me. I love the boat from all the pics and description just waiting to see it in person and take her home. My question isn't really about the quility of this boat I trust what he's told me. My question is more of what are the characteristics of the boat... handling, how does it take chop, etc. thanks for the response we can't wait to get out on the river.

I love that boat as well! What kind of speed will this boat turn?

I have the same boat with a stock 460 and I'm all in at 52 mph, with 3 people and an ice chest.
