Rogers hull

I need your guys opinion on this boat. I'm looking to buy my first float. I want a turn key reliable boat. Don't need crazy fast. 80 is plenty.
But I do want a solid, good handling all around hull that's priority number one.

How does a rogers hull like the link I'll attach handle? What handles better or what would you recommend I look for?

That's a nicely restored Weiman. Roger's Dad made these I believe with Roger until Roger went out on his own.

I had a 74 Roger's that ran low 90's. When I saw wakes ahead I simply drove right through them at high speed with out much worry. Solid boat. I think the Weiman bottom is a little different.

If it's in decent shape what could I offer him? 5k? Or is that too low?

Ad says just like a Rogers, but Roger quit making that hull after a couple years. Designed a new, faster, and better handling bottom.
That boat without a motor is a $2000.00 boat. In reality you don't know if that motor is going to grenade the first time out.
Get a Rogers, not a boat with a Rogers sticker on it. For $8500.00 you can get a nice Hallett, Eliminator or many other top name boats that have a good resale value.

Find a Rogers is a good idea. I got my rogers (16"6') for $2400 and the motor took a shit after 3 trips. But now I have a 550HP 383 SBC so I can't complain. Lol good luck on the searching. Took me a year of looking to find mine
