Everything has it's good and bad points, including each of our great 50 states. Ya'all got 4 seasons and we have two. You got rain that most Californian's have never even seen the likes of. You hvae dry counties and counties that can't sell beer on His day. We can buy alcohol whenever we want to. I had an uncle out there and my sister lived there for about 10 years also. My uncle loved it out there and my sister had to move back to California because all that wicked rain creates mildew and mold which she is alergic to. So while you're sitting in the rain staring at boobs wishing you could buy a drink we're sitting in our boats doing 35 mph in the sun drinking beer. Hmmm... ;)

Actually here in Austin we really only got two seasons. ASS hot or ASS Cold! ASS hot is from March through October and the rest are COLD! Everyone can sell beer on Sunday just not till noon. Hell I cant crawl out of bed before that on Sunday Morning! Ill go with you 100% on the allergies but I will sit here and wait till noon on Sunday morning to buy my beer or even drive to the county line to buy so I can run my boat full throttle in a crystal clear lake with bouncing free boobies in my boat and go back at night to my 1/2 acre lot with a 1900 sq ft house and giant oak trees in the yard that is five miles from downtown and 18 miles from the lake that I only paid 150k for everyday before I spend what yall are spending on a home. hmmm!
Dont get me wrong, I love Cali! My brother lives in Mission Viejo and its nice but for Gods sakes! half a million for a town home? No thanks! I can buy lake front with a dock for that amount here!

yeah, but the wages here differ then there.....a $70k job out here only pays $35k out there.....
I have heard many people chasing that dream to buy a home out of state to only be shocked with the reality that wages are less out of state.....or the flip side...they think they can come to cali and double their salary, but dont realise that housing costs are much more.
trust me, I dont like it either....you wouldnt believe how much im paying for a 1k sqft apartment here in south orange county....i bet its more then your mortgage in texas. :-\

the only judgement I have there on salary is my little bro and he makes stupid money everywhere. I mean for clarifacation sake what does say a fast food worker make per hour there? Like here we are looking at 9-10 an hour.
I have buddies who do what I do out there and they arent doing much better than me. Not THAT much better anyway.

I am really to curious to know if salaries are as outrageous as mortgages and rents.if rents are double and salaries are double then its a wash and it really isnt more expensive to live there.

I was paying 1600 a month in RSM for a House (2 bedrooms 2 bath) Small back yard a 2 car garage. I moved out here 3 years ago.
I now pay $1095 for a bigger house!
