My guess it was on purpose. Full reverse as you see his arm move and bow dives, with trim set up to help.
After the move, you see boat still going in reverse, not something I'll ever try in my boat ::)
Unless some one will lend me their boat ;D

A few years ago I had a steering rack break just as I was heading into shore (a little to fast maybe) to roost some friends. Just as I tried to yank it left the steering wheel froze :o!! So here I am heading for shore way to hot and no way to turn. All I could do was grab for the shifter throw it in reverse and stomp the gas. Thats when the boat nosed in and a crazy wave came over the bow and hit both my wife and I in the chest pretty much knocking the wind out of both of us and filling the scoop enough to kill the motor. Aside from just scaring the shit out of both of us and all the people on shore it was pretty much the most embarssing thing I've ever done (sober) at the lake. It turned out one of the teeth in the rack had broken off and jammed everything up. So when that steering starts getting stiff check it out!! ;D
