Title: Summit racing vs Russel

has anyone noticed a difference between summits AN fittings to Russell's ie leak prone aor anything because Summits are 1 to 5$ cheaper per price?

AN refers to the angle at which the fittings come together to make the seal.  they should never leak, but when they DO its because one fitting is used with a different hose and it doesnt seal well.  if you're gonna use a summit fitting, use a summit hose, earls fitting, earls hose, etc. 

as far as "cheaper" in my opinion you get what you pay for.  the ones i ordered from jegs/summit faded QUICKLY and the ones on ebay the anodizing was removed when sprayed with WD40 when assembling them... i have have 0 problems with my earls fittings that i replaced them all with.

AN refers to army/navy ... Same like NPT stands for national pipe thread. Any NPT will work for any brand NPT...much the same as any AN will work for any brand AN...

J&G aircraft is the best place to buy them there located in Ontario and have amazing prices just On hose I saved 75 bucks. I found out about them after I spent 285 bucks on fittings with summit. I could have bought all the same fittings with them for 200 bucks.

i said the same thing... and AN is the army/navy 37* fitting whereas JIC is the industrial equiv at 37*.
