So my f350 has started a delay when i go from park to drive or park to reverse.
I have changed all fluids and filters but it has not changed.
When i start the truck and go from park to reverse there is abou a 5 sec delay before the trans engages. if i dont remember this and hit the gas before it goes into gear it slams the trans like i did a neutral drop.
anyone have any ideas.
I got no engine or trans codes.

I have an idea! It's a ford get rid of it as fast as you can and go to the nearest Ram or Chevy dealer. Didn't you just have some injector or egr problems a out 2 months ago? I mean run as fast as you can to get away from that 6.0l.. Don't worry bro when I see that truck along side the 40 with the hood up well pull over and give Amanda & Ryder a ride! Lol!

My truck has been doing the same thing for some time now about 5 months 08f350 I figured it was getting old .
-
There's a plug on the side of the trans where the linkage is pull it and spray it with some electrical cleaner. Had the same problem on my 7.3. Solenoids weren't getting signal because of bad contact.
-
ya its a fully electronic trans so i am guessing it is something like that. I will give that a shot.
and i will never get rid of my ford!!

A broke down ford is still more of a truck than a dodge or chevy ;D
-
Don't worry Tony and SocalPSD my trusty old dodge will get your family's to safety for you while you guys sit along side the 40 waiting for a tow truck bragging about your POS fords!!!! Lol!

have had good luck wiht my ford so far. and it has been sitting on 38 inch tires since it was born. just about to hit 100k miles.
-
Alky
it sounds like a line pressure problem that would be the delayed engaugement.
Is it a 6.0?
did you change both trans filters?
flush the cooler? If it has any more than 100k miles on it DO NOT FLUSH it .
Let me know

Hey Chris, what would cause my Trans temp gauge to spike after only a few min of driving and once it spikes it changes its shift pattern, almost like it is in tow mode

Ford's are such pieces of crap. Just had my trans rebuilt in my 2001. First rebuild and it only had 280,000 miles on it.
I think I should trade it in on a newer diesel with a catalytic converter and a urea tank ;D
-
ya i changed both filters but did not do a flush. I just had it flused at 75k miles so i figured taht was good enough. I will try to clean off the electrical connectors and see if that changes anything.
I will drop a new trans in this thing before i get rid of it. Im already looking for totaled 2012s to swap out the drive train for when the time comes. My truck will be my truck till they burry me in it. I plan on passing it to my son when he is old enough. I probably have one of the coolest super duties on the planet. so its not going anywhere.
