Testing

Sweet it finally worked?. So took the mantra out first trip of year and the transom delaminated? I thought the cap split from the hull but didn?t. So we ordered all new wood and cut the stringers out along with transom. Pulled the intake and sent to mpd to have machined for shoe and ride plate. The 495 is at DNE to get valves adjusted and small oil leak fixed.

Should be getting the motor and intake back soon? we are going to resin the whole bottom of bilge metallic red to match the rest of the original paint and keep the nice finish on the wood grain
-
wow thats a lot of work. Any idea why it separated? too much power?? haha
Any upgrades while it was apart?
-
The intake is getting for ride plate and shoe?. When it was originally laid up the glass where it delaminated never got enough resin it was still dry so years of towing a tube think did it in and wood rot
-
A lot of unplanned work, would you have done the shoe this summer or this gave you an excuse?

Well the intake is where I have had a water leak so I needed to reset it anyways and while it?s out get the shoe and ride plate. And it?s more of a safety issue I am hoping to solve because around 78 mph all the way till I lift on the throttle it gets a bad porpoise and I lift around 82ish and the motor has more to go so hoping to eliminate that and be able to send it and not worry about flying out
-
Oh ok, Im sure you will figure it out. I dont know anything about how boats handle over 35 lol.

He's had it out testing and 1 full weekend so far. Happy with the loader and shoe. No rear-main leak to speak of, that's been the big issue

Headed to Parker tomorrow. See how it does. Feeling confident have taken it out a few times to bv. Had to end up buying a family boat last week cause the better half said it is no family boat no more
