So, I wanted LED trailer lights installed and I had asked for a new wiring harness along with it (trailer is from 1989). They installed the LED lights just fine, they work almost but the running lights have a very obvious short in them (any time I try and turn them on my trucks fuse blows). My boat was damaged during the install. Not terribly bad or something, just a chip (deep chip about a 1/2" square) and a dent and scratch to the bump guard around the edge of the hull. So I'm on the way to Blythe the other weekend (day after picking up boat) and I call them and dude says "Oh there's no way"
They "fixed" the wiring, damaged by another shop that did some welding on the trailer...sigh... didn't replace it.
Seriously.
Like I would make this shit up.
Color me pissed.

I work for a shop that repairs motorhomes (some high end coaches) and I'm always trying to get the service advisors to walk the coach with the customers before they leave.
I recommend this to everyone leaving a vehicle at a shop so you both can agree on the visible damage up front.

same thing with rental cars... lots of times ive picked one up and they're like "its in the lot" and people just get in and drive off. i walk around and check it out. its your responsibility to check for damages, not theirs. same with the work, why would you pick something up when it wasnt complete or satisfactory only to complain about it later on when they have no ability to inspect or fix it?

I suppose it is my fault that I didn't inspect and double and triple check everything before I took off, but it was Friday and I wanted to get to the river :/
I went and talked to the guy today, he says he has no idea what happened but said he has someone that can "fix it" so he'll contact that guy and get a price. I didn't even talk to him about the wiring issue, I took it to FE trailer in Lakeside, they are going to rewire the trailer for me.
I guess I expect the same level of honesty from other people as I have myself. You'd think after all these years I'd know better by now.

Kinda not really the same thing but I have all my customers sign and check my sheets saying all work is done
