Title: Thank you ....
Post by: lilrick on October 08, 2007, 09:34:23 PM
I'm not going to try to name everybody that helped me out this weekend because there are so many. (I would feel bad if I left somebody out). Boat racing is like an extended family. When shit hits the fan people really step up to the plate and help out. from the bottom of my heart, I am greatful to all those that helped.Well there is an old saying that goes," There are two kinds of circle racers, Those that have been wet and those that will be." We'll, I'm glad I got that over with . I've got some work to do.

I'm not real sure. Boat spun instantly and I was tossed out about 15 feet I was told.

Just from what I seen, not trying to be rude or anything.
It appeared Rick was behind/ in between two boats (can't remember who they were) and he was caught up in a washing machine of water during the turn. With the wakes hitting each other like that the water was just nasty, I think the boat just lost "traction". I didn't see you get flung out Rick, too much water in the air.
Maybe someone else had seen it clearer

We too have a "marginal" Vid and will convert it and post it if its OK ,from what I can understand from the folks who say they saw it ,the boat "chined in" on the turn into a roller "submarined" for a second (Rick became a 20' human projectile) and the swamped boat sunk to about half deck like a "hot rock" Alls is very hard to see because of the spray and spash. Thank god for kill switches and vests !!

I appreciate the privacy and respect that has been shown. Thanks. I am open to the posting of any pics, video, or information anyone may have on the incident. I was behind two boats and the water was absolute poo!! I think that in hindsight I should have pushed more to the outside, but doing that would have maybe caused more trouble.
