Just wanted to say thanks to all the loyal members here.
It seems like every time I turn around, some ones creating a new FB group or instagram feed to capture a cheap easy way to claim a little fame in this game. Its a battle I struggle with every day to keep traffic coming here.
I've spent years building this site and the SCJB brand to what it is. It wasnt an over night success. I've even lost girlfriends over it (no joke! lol)
I've been doing this site before facebook existed and myspace was all the rave. Before RDP and PB were in existence....and the OG hotboat (where it REALLY began, not the current site) was the only site out there worth mentioning. Hotboat was cool, but it was filled full of jackasses. I created SCJB with the sense of making a community, not a forum of ridicule, cliques, and shenanigans.
But now with a few clicks, you can create your own FB group and with no ease at all, you can reel in a few thousand members.....for what? No one realize the joke FB is playing you all on......let me explain.
So I create a site (socaljetboats.com) and put up my own content (articles, threads, pics, videos, etc).....and I run ads to make money, right?
Now follow this....
You post YOUR videos (keyword: content) on youtube, you can monetize (make money on) them, right?
Now you post YOUR content on facebook...your information, your pictures, your videos, etc.....YOU have to pay to get people to see them by boosting your post. This is no joke. I post something on the socaljetboats facebook page, I get maybe a few hundred views out of the 1,500 people who like the page. Now if I boost a post (I did this when I posted the shirts for sale) by spending $30, I get 6,500 views.
Facebook has flipped the whole ideology of how the internet works on its head by making you have to PAY to get SEEN.....all while they slam every ad in the world in your face.
This is no conspiracy theory. Its all right there for you to see. I am just ranting to make you all aware what youre buying into when you sign up for those groups on facebook. I understand they are convenient and easy since its all right there in facebook, but also know its feeding the monster which is killing what's been loyal to you - the grass roots jet boat owners website: SoCalJetBoats.com.
So that being said, thank you all for being loyal to this site. I try to go above and beyond what the other sites and groups have to offer. (videos, mobile app, shirts, dvd's, etc) ...all this doesn't come without expense. Its been a long way to get to this point and I still always try to keep things growing and evolving.

Wow i didnt think fb had an effect on us. I for one appretiate you man I have learned tried n failed so much with all yous dudes help. I believe I have also seen you grow Brad the ads are from bigger companies it seems and am proud to be a member. I post pics all over after here because im proud of the work I do n try on the boat all cuz the knowledge I gain here. So no Thank you Man. Nibb High football rules >:D

Yeah B-Rad this place is everything you've wanted it to be, good people, I'm an old man and can relate to 99% of you young bucks (p's I think Hallet Dave is older than me) I bought my boat off of this site and get all kinds of help regarding these boats so thanks for all you do for us.

Brad, you've done a great job of building a community of friends with the common interest of boats, that's what I like about SCJB. More boating, a lot less drama here. :thumbup:

Being from the mid west, I rarely post but I do check in daily. I got a jet project I am collecting parts to start. I really to love the topics covered. From funny to technical, I enjoy reading them all. I'm not on FB but am on alot of other boating sites. You guys seam to be a good group. The negativity is really kept to a minimum which I thoroughly enjoy. Thanks for the site and accepting us guys way far away from "SoCal"

Brad this is the only REAL jet boat site..I love it! I wouldn't know shit about building a jet boat without this site. Holorinhal, GT jets, beerjet, you...all have taught me tons without belittling me or making me feel stupid. When my family moves to kingman in 2016, i WILL be getting SCJB letters on my float.. keep up the good work sir!!

I would also like to thank you Brad. I've said it before and I'll say it again. When I stumbled upon this site last year I was determined to get a jet boat and did shortly after. All the people I've met on this have been great and my wife and I couldn't be happier to be welcomed into the SCJB family. It truly has changed my life. It may sound silly but it has. And we owe it all to you Brad.
