Title: Thats good eatin'
Post by: GlassCutter on April 09, 2008, 09:16:22 PM
I just pulled my second batch of wings outta the smoker.   Mesquite smoked hot wings mmmm mm!  Lots of kick and a great blue cheese sauce to go with.  Couple shots of Cuevo Black to round out the meal.  So what are you all doing tonight? Wanna swap recipes?

Spent this evening washing and waxing the boat, finally sat down and ate a sandwich at 9:30pm.

I convinced her to camp at JBP for our spring break, yup she's a keeper.  Thanks again Tom for the travel advice.  I could have been Super GlassCutter this past weekend.  I WILL ski on this lake before long.

Today I'm painting the kids treehouse outdoors in 90 degreee weather instead of boating.  To improve the situation I have decided to invite my good friend Jack, Jack Daniels over to my house.  Jack will accompany all Diet Pepsi consumed today and yesterday was a 8 can day.
For dinner I will be smoking up a pork loin roast covered in dijon mustard, ,butter, brown sugar and Jack.  It will be slow hickory smoked and finally glazed on the BBQ like a ham at Christmas.  And if I am still standing I may just break out the ice cream maker and do up a batch of Bourbon w/ pecan.  If I'm not still standing then the jaquzzi will a great place to finish off the day.
That is a day well lived people . . . Rock on

And you racers be safe  8)

Six 12oz. Jack n diet + 4 Coors down and two of the most delicious golden brown roasts about to come out of the hickory smoke bath.  Now I can go inside, crank the A/C , tip the Jack, and start working on yams and dessert.  I love when a plan comes together.        Now where did I leave that shot glass?

Remembered peaches but forgot whipped cream

Problem: no whipped cream for dessert
Solution:  cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and JACK over warm yellow cake.

I'll drink to that.

Speaking of good eating, went out tonight to the Lakeside Cafe, in Lakeside CA, best dinner I've had in a long time. Bread that I swear was made by angels  ;D . They just found a new customer for life, a customer that has 4 kids.

You're the 3rd person that's said that. I really need to try it out next time I'm that way. I used to love the mex place in El Cajon, but the owner supposedly shot his wife and fled to mexico and his son ran it into the ground!. Anyway, made crock pot ribs. Super easy, take some baby backs, boil them in beer & a little lemon. Then drop em in the crock pot with bbq sause and simmer all day. They fall apart when you pull them out!!! ;D

Sounds like Las Parrilas (sp?). Used to be my fav restaruant anywhere in the USA but it went to crap for an unknown (to me) reason. It's permanently closed now.

You got it, what I heard was owner had legal issues as I mentioned and his son took over and ran it into the ground. He was the bar manager. I used to go there for Karaoke, then he replaced karaoke with hiphop music. They lost money like crazy when they did that, but he was too proud to admit it and get the karaoke guy back. Man do I miss that place. I found a place here in Yuma that is pretty close. It's a little place in the Yuma foothills on Fortuna Rd called Don Quiote's. If you ever come out this way to the river, you should try it. It's not the same but pretty dang good flavorwise.

I will! Las Parillas was kind of funny after it "changed". Whenever I went in there they sat all the white people in the back room and kept the front room for Mexicans, LOL. It was funny knowing that because when the back room was full then they sat my family and I in the front room.
