Title: The power boating community needs your help....Proposed river closure to boating
Post by: GT Jets on June 11, 2011, 12:59:26 pm
I need your help with something....I know that this is nowhere around here, but this is a door that once opened we will never be able to close...

I could use your help with not only taking the time to comment on the proposed changes (took me five minutes), but we really need this to go viral...Spread the word as far and wide as you can. I will also post this up on PB...

Thank you in advanced..

And brad, thank you for the media outlet...you da man! :thumbup: :thumbup:

copied from the whitewater site;

From Biev on the Outlaw forum:

Saw this on the Mean Chicken web site. Read the link and how they start inching away.

It is a proposal to close the Clark Fork and Bitteroot to "high speed" boating. PLEASE make a comment at the following link
http://fwp.mt.gov/recreation/publicComments/region2boatingRegs.html (http://fwp.mt.gov/recreation/publicComments/region2boatingRegs.html)

The following was a request by the author of this article (mean chicken web site) ...""We all need to get together on this one. There is simply no reason to close these stretches of river. The so called conflicts are a non-issue as there has not been a single incidence of a powerboater causing an accident or injury on either of those rivers.""

Please go to the link and read the proposal and comment. Very important, this is how they steal what we value a little at a time. Seems oh so reasonable, but imagine this is your local river.

"I oppose any regulations to power boating on existing open waterways!"  was my response to almost all questions.

I think we need to make a trip to Montana with a handfull of 500hp boats to run in their 20hp regulated areas.  >:D

My response involved a LITTLE more colorful language, but we got your backs guys!  :beer:

I'm going to Montana in Late July....... friend up there with an Eliminator and a fresh 496......Moo 2.0 should be done by then......why not?  :thumbup:

Done. Just what we need, more rules telling us what we can or CANT do.  Next thing you know they will want to put seat belts and air bags in boats.   :screwy:
