Title: this might sound dunb....but
Post by: onbz on August 24, 2010, 11:46:30 PM: I was wanting to put a tee inline on my jetboat so i can visually see that its pumping water at all times.Where do i install it at i am running logs? also is this needed? i see alot of boats that do this.Is there any advantage or dis?

The biggest problem I see with running a tattle tale with logs would be balance, you need a lot of water flow to the elbows....

If you do this, make sure to put the tee in the outlet of the T-stat housing and make sure it has a fairly small outlet (like 1/4")...then you can run a pee hole out the side to ensure there is water flowing, I am not sure the it would be wort a damn, but it will tell you there is water coming out of the block....

Be careful, this water will be hot... ;)

One 3/4 for bilge pump and two 1/2" for engine with one out the back and one out the left rear side so I can peak over and make sure its flowing. I was kinda eyeballing the sand strainer at CP Performance. Has anyone tried one?

Then again, in thinking about it, if the pump ain't pumping water, or if something's clogged or otherwise, the temp guage or (Hopefully not) another guage is going to let you know something is seriously amiss......

It's $600, but I don't know if its worth it or if I even need one. The river has a lot of sand, just not sure if its any kind of problem?????
