I’m looking at a trailer, that a guy got from a guy without a title.

Does anyone know the process to get a title in my name? Thanks

mine came with no title, no plate, and no VIN stamped, so...............

I painted it, redid the wiring and went to CA DMV and applied for new "Home Built" trailer and boom walked out with a new title, VIN assigned and plates. Was actually easier then I expected. I even had a CHP appointment to VIN verify but the DMV office did all that.

I took the forms;

https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/file/statement-of-construction-reg-5036-pdf/
https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/file/statement-of-facts-reg-256-pdf/
and they had one/two more at the office to fill out
Reg #124 application for VIN (carbon paper copies)

I took a few receipts to "prove" I home built it...
home depot, amazon, metal steel, wheel bearings, etc...
