Went last year and didn't know anyone.  Finally I just walked up to Brian Busby and intro'd myself and he proceeded to give me about 15 different names to try and remember.  Saw a lot of bitchin' boats and drank a bit more than I should have.  My partner on the other hand just about had to be poured into his ride and his GF drove his ass home pissed off!

GOOD TIMES

I'll try to make it again if this thread stays up once in a while in Jan.

I'm kind of a fair weather boater when it comes to going out in JANUARY. IF its in the 60's and somewhat sunny I'll be there. Hopefully with both boats.

SISSY!!! ;D, Bad weather just makes for a good story in 2 years. When I got the carrera together took it out there. day started off nice then turned cold and rainy! sucked  then but some funny things happened on that trip.

I admit it, i'm a big puss. I've been caught out in my fare share of foul weather. But to intentionally go out in it, i'm getting to old for that.

Ha Ha Ha    I had forgotten about the weather last time.  I remember remarking to my bud that I hoped some of the more "freeboard challenged" got back to the trailer safely.  Then there was the other guy who ran back WFO thru nasty chop never backing off.  that still impresses me.   \
I honestly don't remember being cold but Uncle Jack makes some fine anti-freeze  :D

Where's everyone launching at? West Marina??

I'm still a newb and don't know anyone, but i'll have my wife and one of her of lady friends, possibly 2  ;D

If it goes like last year most everyone will put in at the "new" city boat ramp at the opposite end of the lake from Elsinore West Marina.  Everyone hung out in Coors Cove that is very close to the city marina.  I will probably use West just cuz I'm Old School like that (its the way I have always done it :banghead: )  And I am gonna try real hard not to wait until nearly dark to leave the beach.  Probably gonna leave the JD at home this year so that don't happen again.
Ya might wanna re-read the Tahiti Girl Welcome thread to your "friends" to give em kind of a heads up.  LOL

I'm am definately not going to make it, my foreman is going to make a move to another company on Monday and that puts me next in line to be the babysitter, unfortunately we have a ton of work ahead of us and will probably be working for the next three or four weekends to catch up, I guess ultimately it beats the alternative, or having Brad's hours   :screwy:

Going next year for sure, have the first half of the calender for the month of January highlighted  ;)

(909)322-6708 My plan is to go .
Everytime I put my name on a list , I end up not being able to make it .
Never launched out of the lakeshore ramp either so .
Got the Crusty Chigadera shined up (for the most part) and still fired up on a damn near dead battery since I think parker was the time I ran it .
Carpet is soaked , seats still need to be cleaned .
Worst case senario I roll boatless .

My boss said the pay cut still has not been approved and is not looking likely as those who need to approved it will also be getting the furlough.  While it would suck $$ wise I could get accustomed to a 4 day weekend every month...

Oh and I wish I could go but it's a bit far from home now >:(

Is the wind going to blow anyone else out of going?

I think I'm gonna try to go out early and run a little.

Well SH!T

I dunno if I got the leak fixed yesterday, but I can live with that . . .
I have been putting air in one pesky trailer tire every day, but I think it would be OK to get me to Elsie and then air up b4 I come home. Maybe.  But I would take the gamble  :screwy:
I admit the wind is a tough call, it went from being still to 35mph all day long.  Running solo makes getting her back on the trailer a wrestling match for sure, and hey the water is only 55 degrees right now What The Hell

But then I get home tonight and my wife has been called into work and I will have to babysit tomorrow  :banghead:

I guess it just wasn't meant to be . . .  I'm out.

We're still planning on going. The Rogers has not been cooperating. My son and nephew just took down to a friend for a diagnosis. I'm going to back the Advantage in the garage (out of the wind) and start to prep it. If the wind is howling in the morning we may pass on the deal. I'll be logging on to get a weather report in the morning.

I feel the same way Brad. I'm rolling out from Ventura, (easy 2 1/2 hr drive) where it was sunny 75* no wind...beautiful day. A little wind...this is about somthing more than just a day on the lake.
I'm all in. Curious to see where the day takes me...rolling solo!

Apparently the magnito was the problem. Just got done replacing it with a MSD set up. Just going to zip tie it altogether in morning.
My neighbors are going to kill me tomorrow. I hope the wind carried some of that engine noise away.

It's 3:15 in the morning, foggy as fu*k outside, maybe 75' visibility, weather still says windy as all hell in Elsinore.  Gonna hit the gas station and head South, see you suckers there! ;D

See you guys soon  ;D

That was a joke!

I left the house right after making that post.  Stopped to add fuel to the truck and boat, and had fuel leaking inside the boat.  Went back home, flushed the fuel out and removed the interior for access to the fuel tank.  Found the clamp at the tank was not tight enough to seal    Put everything back together and headed for Elsinore.  Launched the boat at 11:00.

Glad I didn't bail out on going, there was a lot of boats to see and some cool racing going on.

For all you guys that didn't/couldn't make it, you missed out.

I didn't have a camera with me so I'm hoping several of the guys walking around taking pictures will post some soon.  I know Ralph was taking some.

And to top it off, I was back home cleaning the boat and unloading the truck when I realized that I left my chair setting on the beach.

Luckily it was a POS and ready to get pitched into the trash.

I couldn't stick around for the racing action, but the launch ramp parking lot was a damn good time this morning, I must have just missed you launching your boat, I left at about 11:15 or so, getting up @ 2:30 AM makes for a long day..........

Man that looks like Good Times  8)      Now I really wish I had been there, people don't look all that cold and the wind didn't seem to be much of a factor.  Although I can't understand HOT BOAT owner/operators that don't understand what a rolling wake will do to a flatty or you other "freeboard challenged" folks  :banghead:

I must say that the pics over at PB are really nice.  Somebody has got a nice camera.  So what's wrong with the official SCJB camera -- didn't somebody remember to take it out of the cereal box?
