I need to pull apart the motor in the southwind. I think it hydro locked back in sept. It wont turn over, water in all 8 plugs and #5 spark plug was smashed to shit.
The liberty is in hiatus at the moment. Figspeed is droppin the ball on my magneto testing. I've called twice since I dropped it off and they have fallen through on their call back promises both times.
PS - sorry, i had to spell check your post.
-
this is why i work kunstrukshun ;) school never really was for me! no harm no foul

I already pulled my intake mani and replaced the gasket. Boat n trailer is on jack stands to keep from flat spots...Pulled carb, cleaned and ran mystery oil through it. Filled block with water/vinegar. Just need to drain and replace oil and filter. There is always something else to do....these are boats.
-
I haven't even seen my boat since oct. i left it out there my last trip. I'm hopefully going this weekend or next to get her. I know forsure she needs a starter, was hoping to do interior but cash is tight again so she will probably get a new towel rap for the season.
-
I need to finish the gel work, rebuild the pump, order me a droop and diverter, completely rerig the boat and finish rebuilding the trailer.
-
Let's see wash and clean the interior again, (my cheep cover sucks), put my radio back in get two new batteries, and send my back seat the be covered, I got everything just need someone to sew it up, I've been procrastinating with it because I don't have to sit on it ;D and a oil change.
-
pump rebuild kit ordered!
-
I need to test and tune for my 180 headers. Going to Blythe Feb 12th to do some tunning >:D
-

Typical oil change. Change the plugs. Finally wire up nav lights. Redo water line system. Working on new center rise header dealio. And of course, polish th shit out of her.
-
finish seats and upholstery, bolt up driveline. mount up crank pulley and get a belt for the alternator... then just misc things before she goes on her maiden voyage. then its just upgrading some of the things. going to AN fittings and braided cable, upgrade to real marine carpet, new steering wheel.

fixed it for ya!
Haha Thanks bro! I knew I was missing something important
-
Which one? ::)
Pickle- Drop in the new Dizzy and OT pipes, put on the fresh 850. Probably get the new carpet in it finally, finish wet sanding. Ready to run as it is really though. Love the boat, but its gotta go for sale.
Moo- Need to get it out of the garage and the jet torn down for its makeover. Still missing a couple hard to find key parts before assembling this thing
Yellow Sub- everythings here to do it, just need the time and space to do so, and have the tandem trailer fit to it.
Shrimpin' Boat- Floors in, transoms done, replacing wood in dash, skylights and gunnel supports, reglassing open bow wood, then it's trailer needs redone, interior built and upholstered, fix some cracking where it was capped which means paint work as well now. The assembly of this ones gonna be fun! :banghead: Its gotta go to my brothers machine shop to use the overhead crane. :sly:
Charger- Dunno where we are really with that one. New intake and carb on it, now a nasty vibration from the jet and the guys don't know why. I'll get a look at it next week sometime. I'm still saying a rock in the impy that they are missing. ;) Should be able to nurse that one along all season and re do it next winter.
Brad's Fugly Hallet- well, what more is there to say? Its gonna sit another year at least while parts show up as my cheap ass finds 'em! Probably still just sand it minimally and clear coat it as it is........... :o

I still need a top end, lower is all new and wrap up the gel coat on transom

Just got a call from River Dad and he had some good news that should save me some money. Of course I found a way to spend it with him in the same conversation. Easy come easy go! As long as I can find a good carb, buy a battery and some trailer tires I'm gonna run it ugly this year. It needs carpet and some seat bases rebuilt but since I want to redesign the interior I am not gonna tackle that whole deal until I get to play with it some this year. Long term it will get a HP infusion, new seating arrangement and maybe new paint. It looks like the name "That 70's Boat" is gonna stick.
May put the Wriedt up for sale to help with $$$ but the wife says no way. Dang she is the one that pushed for the Spectra. :screwy: I just don't understand why a wife thinks I should have 3 boats. Why can't it be 3 dirt bikes or 3 musclecars? Now THAT would make me a hap hap happy man!

Trailer rebuild done, pump is at cyclone for a rebuild and bluepreint. and boat is at the gel coater. I am going crazy I have nothing summer related to work on now. :banghead:
-
Pump is rebuilt...carb has been gone through...and tomorrow im gonna fire it just for shits n giggles
-
Working on the biggest of my pre-season projects. complete Holley rebuild
-
I think i got something in the works to get the southwind back together. The original motor that i seized fathers day weekend last summer isnt as "trashed" as I thought it was. Lookin at a few hundred bucks to get me back on the water in a timely manner. Wont be ready for the March deal, but hopefully by the Big River Fathers Day weekend trip.

Picked up the boat today. Washed it and waxed it, polished up some of the chrome and the aluminum, cleaned the interior, and the trailer. I'm ready for Parker in march.
