Calling all Vegas peeps or anyone that has been. Wifey and I are planning a trip to Vegas for our 15 year anniversary, question to you guys other than the touristy things to do what would you recommend? Neither one of us has been to Vegas, and are not into your typical tourist bs. Although we do plan on going to red rock, and maybe a show. Any info would be great thanks

I've stayed at the Red Rock before for a Sales Conference from work, really nice hotel has a lot of amenities but it downfall is That it's about 20 min from the strip.
I'd do what you want at Red Rock then make a day in the strip ... If I'm correct they also offer a shuttle service to the strip but you would need to check.
Can bar hop (depending on bars you and the Wifey like), shows, people watching, ect.
But you really have unlimited options just depends on what you two want to do.

Mandalay bay or Wynn would be my choice to stay, the Linq by the big ferris wheel is a pretty cool place to party (yard house, tilted kilt, osheas few others)

Just remember what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. See as much as u can and have fun. Their is way too much to do here in just a few days. Maybe take a dam tour. Eat as many buffets as u can I think the best one is at the M. I yes try to see a show too.

for shows....tix for tonite. gotta get there early to get a ticket...then go to the venue and redeem your seats. done. usually far less than at door price. example: a cirque show could be say 100 bucks....at tix, maybe 70 for same seat. they also have buffets for less and for other restaurants.
if you stay off strip, youll have to find your way to and from the strip. downtown is usually cheaper...and its older. more of the town's weirdos are there. plus side is drinks, food, and gambling is usually cheaper. otherwise, you can visit some of the other hotels and walk around. some have nothing more than a casino and food court of sorts....others have that plus fancier shops and lavish decor. some even have small, free shows that run every so often. caesers palace, bellagio, the venetian among others are very pretty to walk thru. for free of course. the rio, slightly off strip has a good buffet as does the cosmopolitan. the mgm had a lion exhibit...not sure if its still there. not much to see in luxor, new york new york, excalibur. mandalay bay has a shark exhibit....for a fee. to do something different.....you can try minus 5. its a bar where everything is made of ice...and its minus 5 degrees. they loan you a coat. dont remember the price.
any locals here can suggest things to do off strip....which may end up cheaper as theyre usually targeting locals rather than tourist.
