well not sure if any of you know of my grandfather to be. but he owns hannemann fiberglass they used to do alot of boat stuff but they now do mostly off road truck fenders. anyway harold told me he could get me a wake board tower for almost nothing. now i dont really like the way these things look but it would be nice for skiing and to have the extra storage space up top. anyway what do you guys think shouldi put one of those things on my boat or what..
-
Umm, No :'( I'm a not a fan of adding things that would KILL the Nostalgic value of a boat.
-
SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURE DUDE ! Stick one on there and while your at it , drag your boat and few green horns up to alaska and bring back a sh!t load of crab too. (or tuna)
If your really into skiing , I guess you'd have a legit reason to but arent those things like cheating anyways .

By the way , he chopped a couple of feet out of that thing since that pic was taken!

do they act as a roll cage as well?
personally, i wouldnt do it. you have a perfectly fine tow here....

do you really want a bunch of shit to hit your head on after a few hundred beers?

**actual illustration of what the boat would look like with a wakeboard tower.
-
No, they are not a roll cage.
The ski tow work's great for ski's and is a P.O.S. for a wake board. Wake Boarder's need the rope up real high.
Actually, you can walk under the tower without bumping your head.
Brad, I'm dissappointed in youe artwok as much as jour disssappointted in me typeing. ;D

Roll bar boats..... they give me the heeby-jeebies!

Don a.k.a. Your Mom Did it specifically to mount speakers on. And I have to say it sounds real good. But I would never put one on my boat! I will just park next to him and reap the benefits.
-
I thought about putting one on my boat, then decided that if anyone wanted to wakeboard they would have to wait until I decided to buy a ski boat. For now they'll have to waterski off of the back of mine. I am not sure how good a jet boat would be for wakeboarding anyway.

It will do really well if its a 1973 4,000 pound Holmes jet boat, from what I hear.
-
you guys are funny. i am really into skiing. but i am concentrating on the bare foot thing. i like it cause no one does that anymore. every puts can wake board. anyway i am drunk right now and it is 2am and i just got hom from the bar. i will talk to you guys later.
-
imo....wakeboard towers are for wakeboard boats but if it serves a purpose for you then go for it :).....i saw a 70's kachina jet with a wakeboard tower on it before it is was not pretty
-
Putting all the razzing aside for a minute, I have a serious question ...
Since I'm a skier who's never wake boarded, I know nothing about wake boarding.
Isn't the height of the tower mainly for jumping? Meaning, can't you wake board just fine with the regular towing ring unless you want to catch big air?
I'd opt for a pole to get a little more height before I put a tower on a boat like that.

it is definately easier to be pulled out of the water on a wakeboard with a tower......i know guys that wakeboard the same from either a tower or the regular old ski tow....once your that good it shouldn't really matter
-
yai can get up either way no big deal. but it does provide extra storage space room for some kick ass speakers and it is free. and might just add to the resale value of the boat when i decide to upgrade to a better boat. since this tower will be free i might just set it in place take some pics and just decide from there.

Spare the boat the trauma of having to tote around a dunce bar (as oposed to a dunce hat) and just buy a real ski boat. :D

i dont like real ski boats. they are too yuppie for me. i found out the bar is removable so when i take the boat out skiing i can throw the bar on. and when it is just a boating weekend i can pull the ugly thing off. and all that will be left is the mounts. no big deal.. i will post pics soon.

dunce bar......lmao....gonna have to use that one ;)
dude, since it's free why not and like you said just put it on when your going just to ski/wakeboard........also kite tubes are really fun when you pull it from the tower.....if you keep the speeds down it usually just hovers at about the tower height consistently
:)
-
exactly.

oh it is, mainly cause you don't have to go that fast to keep it up in the air since it's being pulled from the tower ;D........but pick up the pace and that thing soars :o
