hey guys it started when i met a guy my sister was dating named rick solt he was a member of the original river rat club he told me and he has a sweet 18 ft sanger drag boat wit ha 428 dual carb nascar cobrajet that came out of one of richard pettys torinoes.black on blue ,blue crushed felvet seats and the best of all part was that he worked for the budwiser crew (looks for drooling smiley) anyway about a month later he offered to sell me the boat for 4 grand and bam i was into drag boats this thing was so quik outa the hole that it would pull you out of the seat lol (thank god for the oh shit bar he had on the dash)anyway later on he died of a heart attack after beating cancer and i thought id restore the boat becouse it did have alot of hours on it i was workin pretty good and had money rollin in so i went for it.about half way into the redo i had to take a detour in life and left the hull at a friends house .when i got back into town this so called friend had cut the hull into pieces with a chain saw :banghead: :screwy:so there went my progect and the memorys of a born again drag boater.a couple years later i got married yaaay :banghead:lol and low and behold a sweet 21 ft daycruser cought my eye and off to las vegas i went to buy it .about 3 months of skiing and a wonderfull life of back into the water the preverbial clikking of a blown set of lifters started to sing its horible song.after a teardown and an inspection the person who redid the motor for the people i bought it from had desighned it to go into a car :screwy:so after 5 years of buying little pieces here and there to try to rebuild this 460 i been burned again by a couple shops and the stupidest thing i did was move to florida to help my wifes dad who said he was dying of cancer but come to find out he did nt have cancer he said that to get us to move down here couse he wanted my wife to take care of him couse his wife had left him.so sence the drag boat craze is so far from this place having any friends that r into is is very rare.anyway moral to the story i need you guyses help to get me back in the water .my blok is ok i have pistons and a intake i need a cam a set of carbs under 600s cfm a set of rods and valve covers couse mine were stolen i been fighting to finish this thing for 6 years on my own and having 3 kids and a wife who wont get a job leaves me pretty much taped out i even sold my trailer so i could pay a power bill 2 years ago .to be honest i never ask for help on this stuff but darnit i need to get back in the water or im gona go crazy  :banghead:sorry about the long story but i figured i better explane befor i asked so if any one has these parts and can just plane give them away id be eternaly gratefull i understand if alot of you post to me get a job looser lol ps the heads i had were stolen to anyway i can pay for shiping if ya have what i need couse i do have a job lol anyway i love the site and if anyone cant help i understand its alota stuff anyway have a good summer and someone squirt a rooster for me lol ty

Man, sounds like you need to get out of tweeker town or start hangin w/ a better crowd. Beat your buddies ass till he comes up w/ a new hull. I could get you into my Sanger real quick.

I think it would help your cause a little if you hung around the site, posted in some threads and even posted some pics of your project, before you start asking for handouts.

There are many generous people around here, but nobody wants to feel like they have been taken advantage of.

Now to help get you started around here, WELCOME    ;D

hawhawhaw yea, I had some coming thru my own hull. Turns out that the guy who my friend got the boat from before he gave it to me used some screws that were a lil too long when he screwed the mounting bracket for the bilge pump down to the floor. Theres like 1/6 of an inch of screw poking thru the bottom of my boat in 2 places, but thats not something that a lil sea going epoxy putty cant fix.

i seen a guy put a screw through the roof of a brand new customized van i just did the intirior on lol i told him not to put it there hahaha

I concurr with Keith.  Show us what you're trying to do. There's many of us, me included, that have most if not all of the parts you need just laying around, and have big enough hearts to help out, but we gotta be met at least halfway. All of the people you've heard from , and many more on this site, have helped me through a very difficult time (and continue to do so) and are willing to do the same again and again. They have done more than is necessary and even more than they know.

On the same tone, you need to really evaluate your relationship, dude. That is, in a word, fuggedup! Maybe it's time for her to put up or time you trade up. That's just a personal observation from what I read.

i totaly agree ray its in the works ty man .when i first found this sight i read through it and cheked out the havasu lake posts and it realy got to me .i love drag boats jet boats ski boats ect lol im hang around and if anyone needs my help im in to

I'm new on this site myself. Besides the boats themselves being a blast to play with. Think the group into this niche of boating is always the best out on the water. Boated around Washington State, spots along the Columbia River, go down to Shasta and Red Bluff, play further down on the Sac River, etcetera. Every time I've gone out doesn't matter the state, lake or river. I'll get another jet pull up flag me down offer beer. Get invited to the spot they are beached or floating, etcetera. Very social and friendly crowd, kinda like small town living.

I know more about meeting Women. I'm never getting married! When I lose my looks I'll move to some third world paradise that young hot girls treat dirty old men like rock stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok you guys you win lol im buyin a camera tomorow after paycheck lol ill have the pics up friday night found a good deal i think on craigs list for a digital i better make sure it works first huh lol 8)
