Title: Water line connections
Post by: Geier on September 12, 2021, 04:11:54 PM
Thanks for the add. Just got a 78 sleekcraft rebel with 460 and panther pump. Just want to make sure that the water connections are correct.  Here is a Pic of how they are connected now.  Any help is appreciated.

That'll work. If you want to preheat the eng. you gotta move some hoses around.

1. pump to log (cold)
2. log to block (warm)
3. t-stat to riser (hot)

So I'm going to assume that ur diagram is the common proper setup and motor would run more efficiently? I was baffled why they had it ran like they do.  Thanks

If you’re running logs yes, its a better way to add a little heat to the block. Water runs through the block too quick for proper operating temps. So pre-heating through the logs helps out a little so theres not a drastic change of lake/river running straight to the block.

Thanks. Will switch some hoses around.  What about the panther pump? Don't know much about them.  Are parts available if needed?

Nice looking float. I'm not to familiar with panthers other than there are not all that desired. Reach out to Jet Boat Performance, they do a lot of conversions, if you're willing to spend the coin.
