thinking of buy this mold.
« on: February 24, 2007, 09:46:51 AM »
I have a chance to buy this 20' openbow tunnel. What do you think? The guy will let me use the mold for now if I want. But not for long. Do you think I can make money on them?  I was thinking of asking $8,000 for a bare hull and 11 to 11,500 with a trailer. And I think in the mid 30's for a finished boat.

Need help or Ideas would help. thanx

That thing is pretty sexy . Got any pictures from the rear . Your price sounds pretty good too. Also , was the bottom designed for a jet or an outdrive or an egg beater . Things to consider if you havent already.

thank, the center pod or tunnel. there is a long and a long. so it can be made for all motor types. I haven't and have a few of them. The best all around boat was a V6 inboard (54mph) great on gas! funniest my old jet. fastest my twin!!!

I think if you built one with the combo that you were tryin to push and just bring it out on the water so people can get there hands in it , it should sell . For a tunnel at that price , People are definatly gonna be lookin . I am in no way an expert but I would definatly look into buying something that I saw at the river and got to ride in . Thats just the way I look at things .

Looks like a great hull and a great idea.  The boat that currently peaks my interest most is the 21' Cheetah Shadow.  It seems to have a little of everything going for it at a reasonable price. Performance (not real strong) Jet drive, and room for the fam.  Missing the over transom headers, but with little yard monkeys it's probably for the best.  The biggest problem I have found looking for this type of boat it there aren't that many too be had.  It seems like the market could use some competition as well as some inventory.  I would think if one were to keep it simple in terms of options (interior,  pant schemes, motors etc, one could do well selling.  A prototype making some appearances at some choice boating venues might be all you need to get the orders rolling in.   After I read this back it sounds like an f'n infomercial...sorry :D

thanx, for the ideals. That's the problem, The money. That's why I need to sale the twin(don't want to) but something needs to pay for it. And work being slow. I'm just floating by now. buying and sale thing. Have money for boat and trailer. But the motor package is the big hit. I think it will work. It just will take time.
