Anyone know if you can run your exhaust right out of a turbo or does it have to go into some sort of wet manifold or wet pipe. Have a friend looking to turbo his boat. And we not sure if mr. Park Ranger or lake cop Will give us crap.

just run it dry. the turbo is like a muffler. ^-^

Id say dry as well..i have had multiple turbo cars. About 3ft of 5in downpipe to the atmosphere.

Dry.....the turbos will quiet it down plenty.

I had a turbo setup at one time. It was a Gale Banks setup on a small block. It made 22 lbs boost, and the manifolds were water cooled. The turbos themselves were not, and the was no water in the exhaust. The turbos were insulated (to keep heat in I guess, as well as provide some sort of heat shield). The turbos themselves ran white hot, and the heat shields themselves got smokin' hot too. That engine made over 700 horsepower, but wore out quickly. It would push an A2 impellor to 6000. I rebuilt it once, and sold it. It was fun, but too costly to maintain. I wouldn't recommend running a dry system in a boat, it would present an extreme fire hazard with everything glowing. Big blocks will easily make well over 1000.

Definitely not in a through transom set up.
Straight elbows up off the turbos is very common though.

Thanks guys , it doesn't look too bad to do. We're not looking to make big power, just grunt. And doing a small block with a 67mm turbo I'm thinking we can make 450-550 tq down low. We had a few low dollar builds with low boost and cheap turbos that made good power.

Down low power? Is this motor going into a tractor? Rev that thing up and make some rooster tails.
