Place diverter got us our new arm for our diverter. I am going to drill and tap it so I can use an air ram to open my f/r bucket. 👍👍👍

just curious....why an air ram?  are you using air to actuate f/r....?  would that be a full forward/full reverse application only....no 'neutral'?

Iam using this in a drag racing app so only need forward and neutral. But yes, also there's not really a neutral on normal set up boats, but yes there would only be f/r

racing app, got it.  so full forward or reverse.  neutral would be a split between forward and reverse....acts like a neutral anyway....still producing thrust, i know.  the reason it struck me funny is....air is compressible.  not sure how much force there is on the bucket... but in neutral....it would seem that the bucket can move as there wouldnt be enough pressure it ram to hold....acting like an air shock.  then of course i was thinking of how it would be activated....but nevermind that part.  in your app, its snap on and off, right?  i understand that and there would be enough force to keep it open or closed.  thank man

Jake's reverse is welded up on his pump full reverse is like neutral it shoot out side ways.  They can stay on the line without fighting the boat to stay in one place. :sly:

Got that all dialed in now. Drilled and tapped a 1/2 20 hole and got the air ran to work and pivot good. Next I'll drill some holes for the diverter up stop. Iam going to send the arm and bucket to Embee on Monday. 👍👍👍

Yes there's holes drilled behind the angle that lets the water come out. It keeps the boat perfectly in neutral when on the holding rope. 👍👍👍👍

Haha no worries, I don't mind.
The pop off slows the boat down at the end of the run. 👍👍 the black thing on the clean out of the pump

....and that just let jet thrust escape thru there instead of pushing the boat forward.....

ive heard it can also be used to control the amount of thrust going out of nozzle and thereby controlling how fast the boat goes. for bracket racing.  can be set in a comp to do so automatically at a given point and how much to open valve.  less things for the driver to worry about while making a pass.
i havent heard of it being used as a brake, if you will.

on most systems there only a open and closed on the popoffs. There's really no way to Control how much the valve opens because it's ran on air. The most you will see it slow you down is 2 10ths if it's open from a to b. It's really used as a saftey device to get all that excess pressure out so we can let off the gas and not get thrown out of the boat because off the pressure/ hardware under the boat.
