I don't know a lot of p/u truck drivers, but every one I know who has a FORD less than 8 years old has had nothing but trouble, $$$ trouble.  My next door neighbors F250 locked up its trans 2K miles after the warranty was up. Ford told him to pound sand.  He has also replaced 5  :o coils on his V10 in less than 3 years.  My wifes trainer just lost his steering box at 25K miles.   I love my Dodge  ;D

I have been shoppin lately for an F250 Diesel 4x4 and one thing i found out is that the V10 is not the greatest, have a habit of blowing spark plugs, the diesels had some probs too but the 08's the probs have been taken care of  just my 02

Have you seen the video that shows why they recalled the early 08 diesels.  It is funny and scary at the same time.  It seems like they really rushed this truck to market.  Did the sales guy tell you how the entire front end has to come off for most every service?  Very big rig like. LOL   Good luck with yours.

thats funny you say that. i was towing the new 917 up to my house in the f350 and that should pull that with no problem but half ya up here i hear a bang under the hood and notice a huge burst of air. well i pull over and check it out. well i guess the banks 6 gun and garret turbo were too much for the intercooler cause i blew a huge side in the side of the intercooler...

but i dont think that has anything to do with it being a ford.

i bought an 04 f250 v-10 brand new with 15miles, put 75k on it and never did anything but oil changes, i never even put tires on it, and they still 25% left when i traded it in. used the shit out of that truck, but only getting 5-8mpg pulling the toy hauler sucked, so had to go megacab diesel ;D

My buddy knows the service guy at Colley ford so I took it there. It had two blown head gaskets and they had to lift the whole cab off the truck to do the work. :banghead: Luckily I got it in on the last day of the warrenty and they took care of it. Otherwise it would have been 4k to fix that. This time it decided to puke a shit load of oil on the ground at the river last weekend and I had to pull a Mc Guiver to get it back home. It was the oil line to the turbo and the low oil pressure sensor that blew. Easy fix this time. Hopefully that will be it as far as having any more problems with it.

I got my new truck for $11,000 off sticker OUT THE DOOR!  Lifetime oil changes, lifetime powertrain warranty, and NOW gas for $2.99/gal for 3 yrs up to 12,000mi/yr.  Yes you do have to have your maintenance done at the dealer but that is a fair trade some would say. Brand new truck coming in 09 with a new Hemi that is supposed to be good for a 10% bump in mileage and a 20% bump in power.  Oh yeah

Yours?  :o   I'm sorry.   See my post above for help with your next purchase.   ;D   My shares of FoMoCo stock is in the toilet, can you help with that?
Actually I have owned 3 Taurus, and a Bronco II  and all were good reliable cars.  I just don't think they are building much quality into their trucks any more.  That hurts people like you the most, because they are banking on your continued support of the product.  I honestly don't wish anything but good reliable service for you and your truck cuz it suck when shit breaks down.  I just hear a lot of bad reports on Fords thru the grapevine.  I looked for a long time before buying my new truck and if reliability was not an issue I would have bought F250.  It had the best cab room, looks, features of them all but I didn't want to take a chance with the reliability probs that I was hearing about.  Titan didn't have a big enuf bed, GM didn't have a big enuf cab, and Toyota is just plain Fugly.   Peace out....

No it's not mine Silly...it was right next to the one you posted... >:D  By the way...just so ya know Ford Truck sales were down 27% this year from last at this time....AND...were STILL NUMBER ONE IN THE COUNTRY....Anyway..I know we all have our personal preference..I just choose Ford and you choose Dodge....we'll leave it at that and go BOATING!!!!!!!  :-*   >:D :)  ;)  :D  ;D  :o

I couldnt resist either! ;D

By the way I loved my 03 Silverado 1500 When I sold it I had 68000 miles on it and the only thing I had to do was maintenance, battery and take to the dealer and have an AC solonoid replaced.
