Does my phone count? We were at BV, typical Saturday chop, coming out of the 5 MPH zone from floating, phone rang, talked to my kid for a bit, hung it up, thought I put it on the floor, put it in my lap and hit the gas............. $350 chop that day

About 4 years ago I was moving from San Diego to Bullhead City. I got a job in BHC and saved enough money to go back down to SD and pay a friend to take my boat (20' Spectra at the time) to Yuma to boat for the weekend, then the rest of the way to BHC. Anywho we had a blast, I topped her off with 55 gallons ($3.50 at the time) and took off to Piccacho in the boat. I always kept my wallet in a side pocket next to the forward/reverse cable. I came back that night and put it on the trailer only not to be able to find my wallet. We took all the seats out, interior out, searchin for that thing. I had about another 500 bucks in it along with all my bank cards and credit cards. Couldn't find the thing, so my buddies had to pay with their credit cards to get back to SD. I left the boat at a friends house in Martinez luckily so I would only have to go half way. So I was stuck in SD for about a month working on the side just to save enough money to get back to my place in BHC (I flew from Bhc to SD to get my boat lol). And also on the way home my backpack somehow flew out the back of the truck, so I was without clothes  :banghead: and then the tranny in the truck overheated by Golden Acorn, and just decided to sleep in the truck overnight (it had been a long weekend).

I know no one went in my boat during that trip to the sandbar, no one would have a reason to lol, it was ugly as sin. And I know my close friends wouldn't take it, they paid for the trip back home. So after selling the boat the owner ripped every last thing out of the boat, including the fiberglass tanks, but alas there was no wallet like I was planning to see.

Another time I left a Solar Battery Charger on the scoop on the Hondo, and decided to take off.... oops.

Too funny Josh...  At Moabi in June coming back from the sandbar and was getting pissed with so many freaking boats, it was like a fricking ocean.... get past a bunch and get on it... finally some clean water... well I guess I was going a little too fast for my bimini being up, not the stainless fittinings I had on the other one, but plastic ones... needless to say the next thing we hear is BAMMMMM!!!!!!!!  and the bimini is floating in the river :banghead: :banghead: I was so pissed I said F- it and my brother said lets go back and get it, so wwe did, by the time I turned around it was rolling along at the bottom of the river :banghead:  Got along side of it where I could see it and my Bro dived in and  actually retrieved it, saved me a bunch of cash actually :sly:

Nacemiento has my: Ray Ban sunglasses (ever notice how long you can hang on to cheapie sunglasses?), a Mercury propeller wrench, a brand new marine deep cycle battery and a mud anchor.

So I'm running across the lake at the end of a long day of goofing around and the wind comes up like a mother...There were literally white caps...The boat starts to slow up but the engine speed is increasing  :screwy:  Apparently lost the hub on a prop (Bravo I cruiser), so I grab the spare prop and throw the anchor out (in the middle of the lake) so I can change the prop. I hang over the back of the boat and remove the old prop and get the spare on and go to tighten the nut and "kerplunk", the wrench goes over.... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: So I got the prop tightened with an adjustable knuckle ripping SOB. We go to take off and I forgot about the damn anchor (was already pissed about the wrench so this really pisses me off) and I grab my hat and go to throw it under the deck and my shades were on my hat..."kerplunk"  :banghead:  :banghead: ....So FOCK it! we head back to the campground and figure I'll write the rest of the evening off and enjoy some frosty adult beverages and have some BBQ... ;)

Unfortunately it wasn't over...Our freinds boat would not start and he had to move it around into the cove because of the hurricane force winds and the battery was shorted, sooooo I go grab the one week old deep cycle from my boat to get his started and move it. Easy right? WRONG! as I'm sitting on the transom, I go to grab the battery and set it in the boat, it slides right off the newly waxed surface right into the friggen lake..you got it..."kerplunk" yet again, it was in about 15' of water, so I go and get a ski rope and go down to tie it off to bring it up and it was getting dark as hell, found it, tied it off, brought it up, dead as a door nail  :banghead:  Fook me! LOL

Now I carry a 20' set of jumpercables, cheap sunglasses, my new prop wrench floats   , and I always tie the anchor rope end to the steering wheel so as not to forget. :sly:

Thanks for the memories :-\

I lost my perscription sunglasses while making a hard pass in my old boat.
I lost my smoking utinsil, lighter, and a bag of trees. All of it slid right off the deck when a wakeboard boat came cruising by. Thanks wakeboarder....now I must roost you!

Also lost my scoop. Took it off at the house to do some tuning. Set it back on and off to the lake I went. I looked in my mirror just at the right time to see it flying in the air!

Good thread!! ;D

Damn, That does suk. Anything but the tree. Lost a few hats, the ole lady is really good at fishin 'em out now. She went and got me this hat w/ a chin strap on it. Problem solved right, wrong. I'm hookin it up the river and the hat blows off and starts spinnin like a parachute. The thing grabs my hair and twists up tight against the back of my head. Took the ole lady a while to get it lose but we got it and now I remember to take the hats off and use the doo rag for cruising. She dropped her camara in a few weeks ago and baught a new one. Once the old one dried out, works fine

A bag of trees huh n8 lmao. About 15 years ago I took an employee of mine for a boat ride in my old k boat. He climbes in my rear facing back seat with his hat, his mixed drink, and a pack of smokes. We (me ,him, and my roommate) are on the water about 1 minute and some guy thinks he needs to race me. Soooo after a wot run, I let off the gas and look over my sholder to see how he liked his 1st boat ride. The focker is gone. I kill the motor and jump to me feet to see if I can find him. After looking for a second or 2 I glance down.....and there he is, curled up in the fetal position under my exaust log. All of his smokes and his ice cubes are floating around him. I yell at him you scared the f@@k out of me wtf are you doing down there. He says I felt like I was going to fly out so I dove down here. Swear to god...

Since being on the water, from March this year, i've lost 4 cell phones, 1 digi camera, my Ohio State championship T-Shirt (Beerjet was there for that), 4 contact lenses, 2 sets of truck keys, 2 pairs of Oakleys, and one 21' Biesemeyer boat. I'm sure theres more, but nothing as elaborate as loosing a scoop, etc.

AND I STILL DO THIS EVERY CHANCE I GET!  :banghead:

2Sav might have the right idea, I'm just on the wrong side here.
