Title: What would you do?
Post by: JacksEliminator on October 24, 2015, 07:31:38 PM
So winters upon us and let the projects begin. My project is a 1981 Eliminator bubbledeck powered by a Ford 460. Boat is currently in the shop getting capped along with transom, gunnel, floor and stringer work. Now here's the hard part. Do I build the ford that I already own or do I start from the ground up and build a Chevy. I have been racking my brain over this for weeks now and I'm looking for a little insight. I'm not a team ford guy or a team Chevy guy either. I'm just looking to build kick ass motor the family will definitely love.

Keep the ford man I have a 77 bubble deck 🍻 bad ass boats. mild built 460 same bottom end for at least 25 years runs like a top. I'm kind of bias though ford guy all the way you can make that 460 nasty or mild and make good power and it'll start every time

If you already have a Ford, why would you switch to a Chevy?

That seems crazy to me.

You already have the basics in a good running motor, just take what you know works a make it better.
