Never thought I'd make a post like this. Everyone I know who smokes wants to quit, and have tried a few times. A good buddy of mine recently made the switch to E-cigs from cowboy killers. He made it 2 weeks without a smoke and is going strong.....I reluctantly joined the game...smoked for 17 years, got an e- cig on Tuesday and have smoked less than 3 since then... mostly to make sure they still tasted like ass.
This thread is to hopefully help at least one take the first step...,it's an amazing feeling to be able to take a proper deep breath again.
On top of that, between the wife and I, we're saving about $400/month.

I did it for about 3 months and I was constantly puffing on the damn thing! It actually got me really sick. Long story short I smoke a pack a day still.. lol. Good luck to ya!

To clarify, the over the counter e-cigs F me up. Using a vaporizer is much more enjoyable and effective. Have also made it through 2 river trips without smoking. It's really nice to be able to taste food, smell your farts, and sleep through the night. Today is my 20th day and I couldn't be happier. Proud of ya pat, keep it up.

I'm quitting for my kid that's on the way, cold turkey don't work for me. Good part about this is that I've already lowered my nicotine, I get my hand to mouth fix, and it's actually good. Cold turkey didn't work for me when I'm drunk at the river hangin around chain smokers

been smoking for 20 plus years. I hate everything about them but yet I still go down and buy that next pack. I haven't heard anything good or bad about the e cigs till now. the success you guys have had gives me a bit of hope, maybe I'll give them a try

My friend has his own vapor business selling the different flavors. He says most of his clients have stayed off of cigs. I just never started in the first place.

I was pack and a half a day of reds minimum. On a 4 day weekend at the river I'd go through a carton. Don't miss it. Hanging out with a bunch of smokers I just happily puff on my vape. Everyone asks about it and wants to try it. Between smoking my lungs out, the dry desert air, and sleeping in the AC I wouldn't get my voice back until bout Wednesday. Now I just feel great.

I quit cold turkey.
Every once in a while I want one but I ain't no bitch so fock that.
And not waking up with a tongue that taste like butthole (which isn't the bad part) and an ash tray is always a great reminder.

Been smoking for 27 years :-\.tryed the vapor cigs .the problem I had was I would puff on it for hours :o made me sick. Cause I didn't know when to put it down. Mixed with a few beers and I'd puff it continuously. Woke up the next day with the worse headache ever. :banghead: wife and i keep talking about quitting just need to do it.
Nastiest habit I have. They really are a gross product. :P

I smoked for a long time. Laid em down 10 years ago.... Haven't looked back
It's different for everyone. Whatever it takes..... Just think of the cash saved applied to boat!!!

What ever it takes to get off those damn things! I know like 3 people who are using the E cig to quit. The only problem I see is they seem to have traded 1 habit for another. They puff on those things continuously, but it's better than smoking for real. Quitting is doable, I've been smoke free for 5 years now. What got me off cigs was Chantix. There are some side affects with Chantix, but I didn't find them to be bad.

I've been treating them like cigs...take a break when I need one, puff on it for a few minutes, set it down and get back to what I was doing....unless I'm drinking, but in that case, I'da been chain smoking anyway so there's no real difference.
It is trading one habit for another, but this one doesn't cost me $500/month, I'm not inhaling smoke from dried out burning leaves, and I can tone down the nic levels as I see fit.....and I can breathe and don't smell like an ashtray...and food has taste again. Seems like a win win.

The bonus I see from people doing the e-cigs is that even though its still nicotine.... You have control of your nicotine intake. My boss went from a level 18 to 5 in 4 weeks after smoking for 30+ years...hasn't picked up a cigarette since day one....
Also think about all the other toxins n shit you're not inhaling...no tar...rat poisons, etc. I figure its gotta be better....more power to ya guys....

yes, you can adjust how much nicotine intake you get and ween yourself off of cigarettes. the problem is you still have the hand-to-mouth addiction, but the ecigs are harmless as its just flavored vapor.

I just went and picked up an e-cig last night because of this topic!
Me and the wife did the Chantix thing "twice" and let me just say HELL NO!!! With the mood swings ,crazy ass dreams ,seeing shit that aint there!!! and we both smoked twice as much after. Works for some but not all!
Most of the people that we know that have tried Chantix have had the same results.
So I went and got me one of these e-cigs thing $10.50 for a throw away 800 puffs ....im done with this nasty habit !!

This is what I have...although I wanted it now so I paid about $20 more for it through a local store. I went back and bought another battery and clearomizer (tank and atomizer) so if for whatever reason I break the first one, I've got a backup. Krystal got the same thing but got a bigger tank....just like Kevin has. The larger tanks use a different style atomizer and I think it makes the vapor taste kinda nasty...get a much better flavor out of the smaller clearomizer IMO.
The atomizer elements are consumable...supposedly they live for about a week before you should change them. They're about $2 each, so no biggy.

Pat you gotta prime the atomizers or they'll burn. Clearomizers hit harder. Get more in your throat. I've purchased mine in the stores all over OC. Some places are ridiculously expensive so shop around. The tank on mine pictured was 6 bucks, the tip was 5, battery was 17. So pretty cheap

Had a great taxi driver here in Alaska last week. He mentioned that he did one session with a hypnotist 5 years ago and has had zero cravings. I'll ask him if he thinks it will work for you guys who seem attracted to ass. You guys really need to quit that shit, I sure hope you can. :thumbup:

I was a chain smoker for 17 years, 2 packs a day from first thing in the morning till i knocked out at night, i would cough and Weiss all night.
Got tired of it and haven't a smoke in over 15 years. Man i feel and breath a hell of a lot better.
It can be done!

Here is mine. Genuine Joytech Ego twist and clear body carto. I've been smoke free for 2 years but now I am addicted to vaping. Latest favorite flavor Belgian breakfast. Vape on my friends.

Yeah I'm fairly addicted to vaping as well. 12mg nicotine is now starting to give me hiccups, that's when I know it's time to drop down another level. Still smoke free, still smelling and tasting new things, best thing I ever did.

I picked up some eGo twist batteries and I'm using the iClear clearomizer...don't have to prime it all the time, idiot proof, and has better flavor I think. Krystal has the same setup but she uses a tank/cartomizer setup.
Local place in long beach called smokeless success.

Pat, I was having issues with my tank and carto. The clearomizer seemed to hit harder. Now I take long slow drags on the tank and it tastes better, carto lasts longer, and hits way harder than the clearomizer. Shouldn't have to prime it at all besides the first prime.

Anyone that knows me can verify that I smoke(d) like a freight train, 2 packs a day for over 30 years. Kevin got me fired up on the ecigs. Long story short I got mine Monday and I haven't had a smoke since. It's only been 4 days but for me, that's huge. I have an Ego C with a 3ml tank, fucking works awesome. Now on to some flavors, any suggestions vapers?

My recommendation for flavors is just stick with one for the first few days, as your smell and taste return, go to the shop and try flavors. My taste changed and I was left with flavors that don't taste good anymore. Right now I really like all the spacejam flavors but my original favorite was villian vapors pair of deuces. It's melon and pear
