I was dating a girl in high school who had grandparents that lived in Lakehead (Sugarloaf actually). We went to visit them once and I fell in love with the place. Her grandparents had bought two lots back in the 60's and built a house on one. Sold me the other one. Best thing I ever did. 15 years of $50.13 payments got me a 60x120 ft. lot on a cul-de-sac about 100 yards from the lake. Kept the property but not the girl. I hope to build a house there in 5 yrs or so that will be a rental until I can retire 5-7 yrs after that.
Sadly, in all that time I have only had a boat on the lake for one week when we rented a houseboat. Absolutely love that place, and if they ever get around to raising the dam I might just be lakefront.
