The boss man is headed out on Saturday for his annual week long houseboat trip....I was thinking of leaving the river Sunday morning and heading up there to hang out for a couple days....they're launching out of callville and finding a cove somewhere to call home for the week. I asked about the water and he said in past years it's been like glass......I find that hard to believe. I've got about 6 inches of free board. I can handle big water while underway, but i'm still a bit concerned....

You'll be fine Pat. Nordie would be the expert here, but my lil Pickle boat has a lot less freeboard than you and we've had it out there a couple times (While exciting, I'll kid you not) in good 2-3+ footers when the wind kicks up. Make sure the bilge pumps work, you'll enjoy it! ;)

When it's glass theres nothing like it. Watch out for the wind, when it comes up STAY PUT.

You will love the mornings and early afternoons. Depending on how much traffic drives by your area it should be pretty flat all day. But like they said when the wind comes its best to stay put or hurry and get to where you need to go and just hang out.

Everyone is correct in what they are saying, just to add to things...if you are leaving out of calville the narrows offer great protection with deep coves. Sandy offers little to no protection. Swallow is really protected and a nice cove. Swallow aldo has a dock with a crapper. Give me a call pat if you got any more ?s
