Today my grandfather passed away! With no signs of anything...He was a health nut and constantly active at the age of 79, nonsmoker or drinker...He just came back from china from a 3 week vacation, and he had a high heart rate cause all he did was walk...this morning he never woke up! Im at a loss for words right now!
moral is: you never know when it is your turn!

Very sorry to hear that news Josh. Losing my Grandparents was just as hard as losing my Mother. It has been 25+ years and it still hurts a lot to think about them not being around.
I am sure it is hard to see this now, but in this day and age, going instantly without hospitalization or medical intervention is a blessing. It sounds like he had no problems with "quality of life" and that is what it is all about. I have lunch with my 83 yr old Dad nearly everyday. He would rather be dead and will tell you so. to your grandfather for never forgetting how God meant for us to spend out time here.

Its never easy losing someone.
It does sound like he had 79 good years.

Thing about is myparents were younger parents and somewhat irresposible, so my grandparents practiacally raised us while my parents finished with their adolescense! so this is something i have been dreading, but i swore i had 10 or more years to go :banghead:

Sorry to hear this bud. Lost both of my grand parents four months to the day from each other in 2006, in a very painful way(for both of them). Like GlassCutter said, it is a blessing in disguise that he went in his sleep. Hang in there man and Gods Speed to your grandfather.

Well it's sad to say, but i have to update this thread :( I moved in with my grandmother to help her with her daily life, and manage everything around the home that she was physically unable to handle...Well monday morning i left for work, and came home to see the house was just the way i had left it...so i ran into my g-ma's room to find her "still asleep" So now she is back with my grandpa "positive note" The best thing i could say is i had one hell of a time with my grandma before she passed!
