Title: Favorite Pic of Parker
Post by: jrork on January 02, 2009, 08:24:32 AM
Hey, to help sell some of the NW gang on coming south, some pics would be cool.

You have any favorites you'd be willing to post up so I can show the gang what we'd be seeing???

Thanks guys........john

Thanks BJ....Anything above 60 degrees and we're in shorts and teeshirts so temp wise we're good.  It's just the "where" that we're not sure of.

As far as cruisers, we don't have any. Most are either boats like mine or Daytona tunnels (19' and a couple of 21's).  Last thing we want is a bunch of rough water where we can't go out........

Those pics of the roost, palm trees, blue sky and warm water are killing me.........thanks so much

Then let me be the first to tell you this, you don't want Parker on a weekend, end of story.  Might I suggest Big River? It's only like 10 minutes from Parker, the big boats, jet skis and wake barges don't go there for the most part.

Email these folks, maybe they could do you a specail package deal?

I'm gonna beg to differ Skip .
In Oct it'll be fine on the weekends .
I dont think they will be letting enough water out during the day to make boating safe for folks who arent familiar with the area .
Even during the summer you have to wait till almost 10 am to be able to launch or at least go anywhere.
Big River RV park is a private park now and you cant even launch from there unless your a resident .

Well , last time I was there , they told me we cant launch from there because they were a private park .
I was also told ,verbatim, "As a matter of fact , we'll be getting a gate next week ."
So I never went back .
I go next door , to the "Dock"

Ohhhhhh  I thought you were talking about the ramp next to the Dock, just past and to the left of the guard shack.   7 O clock is too early to stop drinking.  I guess I will have to stop reading, I'm not doing it very well.  ::)

That's Echo Lodge in the pic. You can rent a campsite with or without a trailer right on the water! It was about $80 a nightlast year. Has a bar, boat launch, small store. And gas.  Pat    Let's do it the first weekend in Oct. ;)

Just add about 500 jetskis, a few dozen wake barges and houses all the way up and down both sides and yo'll have what it looks like today!

It does look like the ocean! I have been accross Lake Mead and MOjave and the only time the ole lady ever said turn around was at Parker. My boat will prolly NEVER see Parker again.

Damn, I said I wasnt going to talk about it anymore. I think they should mow down EVERYTHING between the water and the HWY. You get stalled out or something and head for shore your in some assholes front yard.

my buddy that grew up in parker told me that the guy with the grass on the roof (just south of sundance) was the guy that invented the jet ski? true fact or just a myth??
