Title: Cheap launch in Bullhead
Post by: BIG JOHNSON on June 25, 2012, 07:18:13 AM
Going for the week of 4th. I usually launch at Big Bend, and I like it, but the $25/day launch fee gets old after 4 days. I'd rather put a hundred on red..

I always get gas on Bullhead side anyway.

How much is a season pass?  If you like that part of the river and plan on being there more than a couple times it might be worth it.

Big River park raised there launch fee to $25 day, so I bought the season pass for $150 for a full year, not just until the end of this year.

Big bend is 25 for launch and park. Year passes are available but for parking only. I'd still have to pay 15 for launch IIRC.

I could launch for free at the Riverside, but I stay at aquarius.. the wife would sideswipe every Mercedes and take out every mailbox with the truck and trailer taking it back to our hotel.

Maybe the $25 is worth it for the ease and convenience, but there's gotta be somethin in Bullhead that's a $10 launch. I drive over the bridge to save 15-20 in fuel per fill up, if u could save another 15 that'd be like two 18 pks.

Bullhead community park, $15.00 / day NON resident, $8.00 Resident, and theres always Davis camp, $10.00/ day. I get My annual pass at BHC Comm Park for $30.00,(resident) works at Rotary park too. The Riverside has a brand new launch ramp (free), looks really nice compaired to the old one. My wife learned to back in the boat in a crewcab Dually, at the riverside's old launch ramp. (can't see the boat out the mirrors, and dog leg to the left) Might have to give your other half some lessons, or trust her with the boat.

I've seen your truck and boat there. Nice place. Pretty cool that the island protects your boat from all the traffic when you leave it in the water.

I either park at Harry's (red quadcab with the Bahner sticker), or the wife parks it back in the driveway after launching.

Don't recall ever having to wait to launch on that part of the river. I idle into that beach area at big bend, let the oil warm up a while and mash it in the deep to get planed and keep off the rocks headed up river

When your place is a few hundred feet from the ramp, learning the flows is preferable to towing 1/2 hr and paying $25 to launch. It actually works out quite well as the Seadoos and assorted out-of-towners hit it early and crap out early making a leisurely breakfast or brunch and afternoon putt nice. My river schedule is completely different than before we bought the Shack 10 years ago.   ^-^

Saw you out there in your boat floating by lazys parking lot. Stopped there for a minute in the work truck. Had to leave as you were pulling up to the ramp. Nice boat man. A bit windy out there.

It got to blowing pretty good. We we're in the back bay for a couple hours and then it kicked up. Figured we'd float back to Harry's and pack it in. Too bad you had to take off. I opened up the Tiki Bar after wiping down the boat.....

Yeah was gettin time to go home for the day. Catch ya next time though. You've got a nice boat man. I dug it. Want to take mine out this weekend but don't want to deal with all the crazies from outta town. Noticed a lot of boats in town filling up and getting ready for the water.
