It was awsome, only about one third of people who signed up showed but we had a hell of a time in the cove BSn and floated down riv yesterdat w/ nine boats
WTF was up with that, "I'm going" 23 people said or something like that? WTF?
Saturday was just as eventful as friday....
Rod offers Kate and I a ride in the High Life (which was lookin pretty snazzy I must say)....we headed up river and no joke....we hit a waverunner....guy wasnt paying attention and he saw us at the last second and cuts hard and drenched us as he bounced off the bow....he had a 8 year old kid on the back. He didnt stop...made a B line for up river full speed....full hit and run.
slight scuff to the front of the highlife (very minor)....and we were all ok....we took off up river lookin for him and he was long gone.
...
Thanks for the compliment on the High Life Brad.
In typical Rod fashion... WTF just happened... WTF just happened... WTF just happened? Is everyone OK? Thank God... WTF just happened? WTF just happened? Is the boat leaking? (Brad looks it over and says he doesn't see any damage)... WTF just happened? Where'd the guy go? What? Didn't he have a kid with him? (yes he did)... WTF? Sit down! I hit the gas... dude was Loooong gone... I wanted to punch that guy soooo bad but... it took me too long to figure out WTF.

I just couldn't get over the fact that the guy didn't even stay around long enough to ask his kid if she was OK.
Kate, errr Woman! You are a trooper! I owe you a round!
Brad, I would have kicked my ass if I were you, errr wait a minute, you did the right thing (by not kicking my ass).

I owe you a round!
... Honestly, I have no desire to EVER go back to that section of river ever again. there is WAY too many amatures on sea-donts (sea doo's) that had absolutly no idea what a no wake zone was...what the rules of the river are (not much different then a 2 lane road)....dont realise that its NOT ok to just cut left and right without looking. There was no presense of law inforcement anywhere. I later found out that its Reservation police who monitor that area and I just assume they dont give a flyin crap about what goes on down there.
....
I will never go there (AVI) again ever ever ever ever again. Imagine putting the launch ramp at the most choppiest and fastest current on the river, now multiply that X 10 and you've got a slight idea what the ramp is like. Oh yeah, add to that the 50 flockin' jet ski's doing circles in front of the ramp.
... So pretty much the entire theme of the weekend was "watch out for the lake lice" ....they were everywhere like flys on shit. buzzing around with no defined path. I tried to complain to the Avi about the situation and I was blown off. It's their cove and they just let underage kids run amuck on waverunners at will. I wont be supporting any events that are held there ever again. Seriously. I was surprised that waverunner drivers were not being pulled out of that place on stretchers....i have no idea how they all made it out alive.
...
I hit one jet ski and had 3 very near misses, the 3 misses were within say 3 feet of my boat. 2 of the 3 smiled at me and one of those two appeared to have done it on purpose. The one that didn't smile had a child on the back.

... Other then the tards on the waverunners....it was a great weekend....met up with several people from the site including ryanbrindle, factory502, coorsheavy, chromey, mdunn, rivertard, crewchief22, and anyone else I forgot...it was a busy weekend and I tried to talk to everyone I could.
...
It was an otherwise great weekend. I liked everyone I met off of the site(s). How can you not have fun at the river (as long as there are no serious injuries or deaths)?

...
Thanks to Marc, rod, omar and coorsheavy for takin kate and my non-running boat owning ass out on the water
...
You are very welcome. I'm sorry I broke my promise to you and Woman! (That I wouldn't hit anyone.)
...
Thanks to Rivertard for the entertainment on and off the water
...
That's one funny mo fo!

....
I heard from Rod at about 8....he was in barstow putting on 4 new tires on his trailer....I will let him explain why.
...
The boat is awesome!

It acquired several small oil leaks (several small leaks equals a lot of oil though).
The truck is awesome!

The boat trailer, oh yes, the trailer... I lost tread on one tire about 23 miles away from the AVI on the way there, about 3 miles away the tire blew, when I got there (I kept driving, purposely), there were two "rubber bands" with really cool rubber strings on the rim. Sunday I went to Big O Tire and they were closed until Monday, I went to Wal Mart and they didn't have 1 - not 1 - 14" tire! I met up with Ralph and he let me use his bottle jack (stupid assssed me forgot I have a bottle jack in my truck!) and Factory502 let me use his spare! Positive Karma needs to be sent to factory 502 and Ralph for helping a fellow boater out!!! Anyway... about 25 miles or so after leaving the AVI I lost tread on another tire

... I strapped that tire up before it blew, I also deflated the tire quote a bit as well... about 50, yes 50, miles later the strap broke, I re-straped the axle, about 10 miles later I started seeing rubber fly again, this time tire number 3 is losing rubber

, so now I've got one tire losing rubber, one tire completely shredded (in the back of the truck bed), one tire that has lost ALL of it's tread and it's axle is straped up, holy flockin sh!t, now I'm crapping my shorts... every little sh!thole town I'm stopping at and no one has tires

, then the strapped up tire blows about 3 miles from Barstow

, now it's on factory502's spare, one tire that's blown with it's axle strapped up, another tire rapidly losing tread, and my own
last good tire, I made it to Barstow

, and I paid $483 for four new tires because, well do I
really have to explain why I bought new tires?
Yes, even with the trailer tire problems, even with the knat - I mean jet ski - problems, my family and I had a great time and it was worth it, but I wil
never go to the AVI again.
Probably the best time that I had was on Sunday. After I dealt with the first tire problem I didn't want it to ruin my day, so I took the fam out, we went waaaayyyy up river, I shut the engine off, and we spent several hours just floating down the river spending some quality time with each other. It was very cool.

Pictures to come tomorrow night!
