Just booked my room for Sat night, I'm close enough to jus jam down Sat morning. It was almost $300 for both nights. Also, you have to ask for the river side of the hotel, shouldnt be a problem cuz they said all the other rooms (cheaper) were booked. Anybody needs a place to crash Fri night, let me know. The AVI website said the launch ramp was available to guests but didn't say anything about being able to pay for usage/parking. Is there another ramp near-by? I don't really want to run the boat that far up river at the cost of fuel. Any information will be helpful. Thanks

One thing I always do multiple times a day is cruise a mile or two up river and float down , knock back a few cold boat sodas . If someone has a stereo , crank it . Definatly have to go for a few swims while I'm floatin . That is all I live for....sweet me too...by the way i got tunes!!!! lets float, and save on gas

Thanks dunn i just called them up and i got the discount. It only applies to saturday for me, i guess cause im checking in friday and leaving sunday but every lil bit helps. That means an extra 12 pack for me.

Omar,I was woondering about your situation today . It's been a tough four weeks to get shit done for lots of folks . usually I'm the guy that is (as an example) installing an intake manifold the night before race day or doing a pump swap the night before I head out to the river and in the end everything works out fine . The one time I decide to get shit done a month before , BANG ! here's a big ol' d!ck in your ass ! And not even a courtesy reach around . I literally feel soooo violated by some who I and others have recommended highly .

Pulled the heads for gaskets, painted the block n heads, polished all the stainles bolts, scrubbed the floor and jus kinda polished and washed everything that wood cum loose, Mag, pullies, rail kit Etc. If no cannon we still got the girls.....u get the gay one.

Towards the end of the day, we headed up river to float back down.....Myself, Marc, Kate and ryanbrindle were in Marcs boat....marc driving......ralph in his boat.......got some bad ass pictures (i think :() ....marc and ralph werent watching and they smacked into eachother pretty hard....the corner of ralps transom hit marcs gunnel right by the passanger seat.....the impact and marc yankin the wheel out of instinct threw kate over on top of the motor and pitched me out of the boat at about 60mph.
Everyone is ok thank god....Ralph has a some damage to the back of his boat and its just over the waterline so it doesnt take on much water...Marc has a nice gouge on the side of his. I lost my sunglasses and soaked my camera. Its dead and wont power on. I would post pictures, but I dont have a card reader with me. It was a sobering experience to say the least.
To anyone who is at the avi thats reading this.....just be safe out there guys. I will report back later with how saturday goes. ;D

Rod offers Kate and I a ride in the High Life (which was lookin pretty snazzy I must say)....we headed up river and no joke....we hit a waverunner....guy wasnt paying attention and he saw us at the last second and cuts hard and drenched us as he bounced off the bow....he had a 8 year old kid on the back. He didnt stop...made a B line for up river full speed....full hit and run. >:( slight scuff to the front of the highlife (very minor)....and we were all ok....we took off up river lookin for him and he was long gone.

Honestly, I have no desire to EVER go back to that section of river ever again. there is WAY too many amatures on sea-donts (sea doo's) that had absolutly no idea what a no wake zone was...what the rules of the river are (not much different then a 2 lane road)....dont realise that its NOT ok to just cut left and right without looking. There was no presense of law inforcement anywhere. I later found out that its Reservation police who monitor that area and I just assume they dont give a flyin crap about what goes on down there.

... So pretty much the entire theme of the weekend was "watch out for the lake lice" ....they were everywhere like flys on shit. buzzing around with no defined path. I tried to complain to the Avi about the situation and I was blown off. It's their cove and they just let underage kids run amuck on waverunners at will. I wont be supporting any events that are held there ever again. Seriously. I was surprised that waverunner drivers were not being pulled out of that place on stretchers....i have no idea how they all made it out alive.

anyone see that black and yellow jet lodged on the rocks upriver? or maybe you noticed the beer floating downstream? yep, that would be me. engine cut 15 feet from shore goin 40 boat pitched to the right up the river bank. everyone bailed and was ok boat should be in the water in a few weeks......ready to go it again haha! hopefully pics should be comin soon if the camera wasn't ruined (everything went in the water)

Glad to hear no one got hurt this weekend. I had enough problems this weekend without coming home to findout someone got hurt.
It was cool to meet some of the people from the site at AVI, but that was just the beginning. My wife fell off the boat and tore her suit (had to drive back to Needles to change). Later got the ignition wet and sucked a sh** load of rocks into the grate (pump stopped pumping and the engine started getting hot). Luckily I was close to my camp in Needles. Caught a ride back to AVI to get the truck & trailer so I could get the boat out of the water to clean out the rocks. Lets see, what else happened? oh yea, my daughter slipped trying to get back into the boat and gave herself a fat lip. :'(
But with all the S**T that happened this weekend we had a good time and are looking forward doing it again (somewhere else?). This was the first time for me on the river in the Laughlin/Needles area and I liked the mostly flat water. Just need more ponies for the BBC >:D
