Once I get my boat going again I plan on making some trips out to the Laughlin area with it. I was hoping that someone could tell me what hotels offer boat/trailer parking and also where the best spots to launch are located.

I always stay at the Tropicanna Express the rooms are nice and the boat parking is good. The Colorado Belle also has good boat parking. I always launch out of Katherines, I like Lake Mohave a lot but it seems like more people dislike it then like it.

I always stay at the Avi Hotel and Casino in Laughlin however the river will be very low especially in the mornings.The best place to launch is in Needles at Jack Smith Park where the river is deeper, then go south to Topock. Check the channel at the launch site make sure it is deep enough to run out to the river. For river flow release call 928-754-3666. I have run at 10,800 with no problems.

Edgewater and Colorado belle have trailer parking behind the mall, security patrolled, Riverside is easy for launching, Big Bend has a protected laguna for launching and sugar sand beaches :thumbup:. Lunch at Lazy Harry's, or the Avi (10 min south), gas at Needles Marina or Topock, Havazoo is 20 mi. so. of I-40. 90 plus miles of river/lake ;D Check water flows at: http://www.usbr.gov/lc/region/g4000/hourly/DavisParkerSchedules.pdf (http://www.usbr.gov/lc/region/g4000/hourly/DavisParkerSchedules.pdf)
8500 cfs is min. for my sleds, 18000 is plenty of water :thumbup:

I can't remember where it was for sure. I want to say maybe the Flamingo? Anyway it was a casino that had its own ramp AND it WAS more than 10 years ago . . .
I was a 6 feet away from the edge of a wide ramp at the water's edge, and as I backed in further the trailer dropped off the concrete into a 5 ft. deep hole. It took 2 4x4's chained together to pull my Toyota and an empty trailer back up onto the ramp. :mad:
ALWAYS VISUALLY INSPECT THE END OF RAMPS that you haven't used before is my new motto!

The Riverside (Sportsmans Park) HAD a huge hole at the end of the launch ramp :banghead:, they fixed it, extended it out 6 or 8 feet, and rebuilt the breakwater winter of 08-09, they can launch the USS Riverside there now :thumbup:. Really busy on summer weekends, I only go there on weekdays now, Lots of (rental) lake lice north of the 5 mph zone (Harrah's)
The Avi launches right into the current :thumbdown:, Rotary Park (BHC) does too. BHC community park is pretty good, as is Lazy Harry's and Big Bend (south of Laughlin), and Jack Smith park/Needles Marina is just too far for me. BHC to I-40 and back = 80 plus miles (on the water) :thumbup:
