Directly across the river from there is a real sandy island- 'bar beach' (used to be a living room style bar and stools there, its been gone 5-6 years)
Deep water and reasonably sheltered, if the water is up- 3+ units. One of my go to beaches.
Pipeline is rocky, shallow and fairly swift current. Trash is usually a problem there, too, wtf...

I heard pipeline is where the fast boats used to meet on Saturday nights at that part of the river, maybe still do? And run some races down towards lazy Harry's

I've always had good luck in that area, as long as you are down past big bend and all the damn sea doos

Yeah, about 1/2 mile down river from pipeline, AZ side

You'll see the Arizona Veterans Memorial. (9 Flags, and take your hat off!!!) Hang a left. Its shallow thru the entrance.

Follow channel to the end.

Sandy(er) spots are behind/nearer the pole, to the water channel (yellow guard poles)

Bring cash.

Thru the parking lot to the front door.

Lousy Food, Slow Service, Warm Beer.

yeah, about 3/4 mile down from the whirlpool. The channel is protected.
