What are everyones opinions? I've never been to Havasu in the jet boat. Its an 18ft Eliminator bubble deck w VERY mild 454. Any tips?. I have 20 gallons of fuel. Should i be nervous? How far is it (time)? Thanks for replies. Going Cinco de Drinco weekend.

Ive done it on many occasions. I made it no problem with fuel. Just be easy on the throttle and do a bit of floating on your way down. Just make sure you are 100% confident in your boat and i wouldnt recomend doing it by yourself because thats along ways away from your trailer down river.

Might I also HIGHLY suggest doing it on off days or hours, that lake gets pretty rough for small boats like ours. Fuel wise, you should be ok, but it's a good idea to have a buddy in another boat to accompany you.

I used to do it in my mini day. water can get a bit choppy but if you are not trying to go fast you should be fine.

Roughly 25 miles bridge to bridge, LONG no wake zone, in the refuge (about a mile), fuel in topock, havasu marina, others. Have been all over Havasu in a 17', just keep an eye on the wind, should be fine. There is a few sites to see along the way. Laughlin to Havasu and back is a full day (for me) 180+ miles in one day with open headers, my ears needed a break.

we used to goto havasu every other weekend in the summer before we moved to Vegas. every time we would go from the bridge to the Sandbar, untill they closed it. Then we started going to Pirates cove(Topoc). 30gal of fuel, never had to fill up, never floated. it was scary in the gorge untill they mad ie no-wake. The lake is rough at times, but stay closer to the shore and you will be fine, dont go in the middle, you wont be on the lake for very long. its a very fun enjoyable ride.

It should be, I did this run the first time I dropped my mini day in the water. But then again I know Havasu very well and it was a Wednesday. We just to run all day and make a run from Havasu springs to the bridge and back no problem on 20 gal in my dads old Hawaiian. You should be good.

did it a couple of times should be right now is the perfect time beautiful float and run you will be fine

Once you reach the bridge continue south in the channel, at the end of the channel turn right to the gas docks.

I do it all the time. You should be fine. There are a few washing machine spots -main one being a couple miles south of topock where it narrows with rocky cliffs on each side. Other than that you should be fine. Watch the wind when you get out to the open lake. If you stay towards the CA side when on the lake it's typically smoother water. There's gas in the marina if you're concerned about fuel. The sand bars on the south side entering/exiting won't be a problem in a jet. Just watch for groups of debris. It will be crowded this weekend -keep that in mind (again, washing machine effect). I'll be running from Havi to Pirates either Sunday or Monday to avoid the initial burst of folks. Oh yeah, people will be at the "mini" sandbar b/c the big one will be closed off. On the CA side nearing the opening to the to the lake (going south). Enjoy!
