Well, it's time to start working on the trailer and have a really dumb question.
The photo below that Brad had posted shows a flat part in the center of the rear crossmember. My trailer doesnt flatten out and continues to a point. That think is at best 4 inches off the ground and drags constently to the point that the frame cracked sometime in the past and somebody drilled and bolted a hunk of steel to reinforce it.

And here is mine (pardon the mess but we were on a week long roadtrip/boating trip)

I would like to flatten it out to take out some of the worry but am curious if you guys all have it similar to this or if there is a reason that mine is some dramatically dropped?
My boat is a 18' Brendella (appears to be a Southwind splash) and the trailer is a tandem axle rig. Thanks guys......john
