Folding coupler or tongue

Trying to back the boat straight in...about 8 to 10 inches too long...trailer doesn't seem to have a long neck to connect a folding coupler or tongue. The side rails seem to come almost all the way to the coupler. Any ideas or have any of you had to deal with this?

with my 18 footer and the single axle trailer it was the same way for me... i ended up having to remove the back half of the jet pump to get it to fit straight in. my 21 i have a swing tongue but i still have to put the boat in on an angle...

I removed the nozzle/place diverter to get the 18' boat in straight. I had enough cable to flop the whole assembly on the transom, wrapped in a blanky of course. A few minutes of time is worth the space you get. My newer boat is 21' & has swing away but still has to be angled big time. Good luck

We just cut mine off and welded up a Curt receiver tube in. We then used some steel plate to box it all in. Makes it so nice. I can remove the tougue completely or just slide it in and have a ton of room. Slide the insert in and the ball coupler is in the exact same position it was from the manufacturer.

Ended up finding that Summit had the cheapest prices on the Curt Reciever. Half the price of the "trailer" places.....
