Title: How to load with a floater bar

Hello everyone.  I haven't been on the website for a couple of years but I just bought a '79 Omega so I'm back.  The trailer has a floater bar and I don't know a thing about them--I'm used to a winch.  Can someone please explain how to load the boat on the trailer?  I'm trying to visualize it but I just can't figure it out.  I don't want to look too stupid the first time I take the boat on the lake.

Put the pin in, have somebody line up the boat on the trailer, pull the boat out slowly.

The trick is to keep the trailer fairly shallow drive the boat up on the bunks. Once the boat "stops" back the trailer in a bit more until the bow eye lines up. I run a chain between the floater bar and the trailer frame. Keeps them from flipping over on a steep ramp.

When I launch and load I have the trailer in the water deep enough to cover half the top of fender usual works for me unless the ramp is really steep then show mor fender

When I had my Nordic it just had a winch. Here on the East coast most do not even know what a floater Bar is. I added a floater bar and used the winch to winch it up. The floater bar was primarily there for keeping the bow from climbing up the V block when towing and coming to stops. Even when strapping the transmom it still would want to move forward. The floater bar cured that.
Here is my build on the floater bar. This may or may not give you some ideas.

Very nice--that's a perfect setup.  I would like to see your winch setup. I am thinking about adding a mount for a winch to be able to get the boat close to the bar so the boat won't float off the side of the trailer.  I'm not going to be able to do half as good a job as you do but I'll try.
