REBUNK
« on: July 19, 2013, 01:06:43 PM »
replaced the bunks last weekend.... I had made the new ones at home, (UV resistant outdoor carpet remnant from Lowes..../lumber/fasteners/waterproof spray glue....about 65.00.) I took em with me to the lake. I used my mini generator and it only took about 20 min to replace them.  It only took about 30 seconds to remove the old ones.....all the fasteners were totally rusted out....I'm surprised they had not floated out.

Must be a nice feeling to have the new stuff on there after seeing the condition of the old stuff.

This is on my to do list along with a million other things. Like the idea of the generator and just knocking it out at the lake.

My trailer only has the two long bunks and I am starting to have weight distribution issues so I made the two shorter outer ones. They are getting welded in on sunday.

Just did the same thing last weekend also. Generator, drill and pre made bunks. Even got a nice sunburn out of the deal. Beats the 210$ estimate from local shops! 65$ and a day on the water!
