Put the boat in the water, while you work on the trailer save you some money, size up the new bunks with the old ones then swap them out. easy fix ;D

sorry didn't see that you wanted to weld, no biggie my race boat is off the trailer rite now and you are welcome to sit your boat on it and take it home if you wish. we can swap trailers at the launch ramp in long beach.

Or build a boat dolly like i did , then i turned it into a workbench

Tell one of your buddies to take a ride. I let my son use the boat for the day while working on the trailer.

Kind of late posting to this but I am pretty sure that Dick Scherer Marine (spelling?) in Norwalk can lift and hold your boat for you while you work on it. I think it was 50-100 bucks a few years ago.
