So I was looking at my trailer the other day and my boat makes my trailer look like Crap! So I was thinking of using grey bedliner to do the trailer. What do you guys think. Any experiences in this?

I would get ahold of the same green as your boat.....That would make a sweet looking package.

Do you think the paint will hold up very good over the liner though. That paint was just so damn expensive bud would look sooo nice! I did just order new LED lighting for the whole trailer with the clear look that lights up red. The trailer is still too long for my boat since the day cruiser used to be on it. So let the modification begin. Need to shorten the trailer and put new fenders on before any paint or bedliner.

Looks like a good start. I painted mine with rustoleum and used a hardner I got at a body shop supply. I also used an enamel reducer to. I used 8 parts paint, 2 parts reducer and 1 part hardner. Did this 3 years ago and still shines to this day. I got the gallon of rustoleum at Home Depot.
Are you putting a floater bar on that trailer, or does it have one already. I have both a floater bar and a winch. Ramps are pretty steep on the east coast so a winch is needed too. The floater bar just really locks the boat in. People here on the east coast always ask me what that bar is for cause they are a West coast thing I guess.

Yea I had a winch only on it before because I never got arount to modifying the floater bar to my boat. I am gonna remove the winch though sonce i never have needed it and finish making the floater bar to work with the shorter trailer. That rustoleum idea is a good one, I will keep that in mind. I did just talk to a guy in town today that is a Reflex dealer and needs to get rid of some grey color

Maybe if I do all the prep he will give me a good deal.

Well I pick up the boat tomorrow from my friends shop. He sprayed the bedliner for me since I was running short on time. My next question is I really want some stainless fenders for the trailer. Any suggestions for a place to go for a good price. I need an odd size thoug 68"x10x13"or14"

Just got back the trailer from the shop and looks great with the bedliner on it. I also got it aligned since it was a little off. Just started on the wiring with all the new LED lighting tonight. I will post pics tomorrow. I hate wiring!!

Also ordered just some aluminum diamondplate fenders since I realized that stainless is just not in the budget for me this year

Well got the trailer all done yesterday: new wiring, lights, floater bar, bedliner, and shortened by 4 feet

here is some pics

Just really need new wheels to pull it all together and get the fenders on when they get here, I also noticed a problem when pulling the boat out of the shop on an incline, if I have my tanks full my gas cap leaks, there are no vents on my tanks either and they are stock tanks but never had a problem, any ideas on hot to stop this other then keeping the fuel level lower

Your caps should be the vent. You also might have bad gaskets/caps...Shoot a closer pic of them closed and open.

Your floater bar will not work IMHO...

Think about it, what is keeping the boat from going forward while under heavy braking....The bar needs to go forward from the trailer to the boat.

The finish is simply bad ass

As for the fuel fills, with vented caps, you simply cannot fill these to the top, new rubber may help, but they always weep.

Get something on there to prevent forward walk on that trailer. I will see if I have a picture of mine....

Moo does this too. Not a bad seal that I can find. Only does it when level on level ground like in the garage, etc. Learned to make sure I only fill it near the water and trailer it as close to empty as I can. I have different fills though as well, not the flip-tops......I think the return line installs will help that in my case.

Here is my floater bar. I have a winch too. Some ramps on the East coast are real steep so you need a winch. People have asked me what that bar is when they see my boat amoung other comments

Yea my fuel fills are brand new as well, so maybe I will just have to watch how full I fill them, Oh and the floater bar, I see what you mean by it sliding forward, the angle of the cut on the floater bar on the side that attaches to the trailer prevents it from rotating up and over. Maybe you still see something I don't though, let me know if you do I kinda just winged that part

This is going to sound like an attack, trust me it is not...Just not sure how else to word it......That little tab of metal welded to the hinge point will be absolutely no match whatsoever for a 2500-3000# boat under 2 G's (makes up to 6000#'s of force to that bar)...Whereas a floater angled the opposite way could easily handle the job...It will pull the bow downward putting more force on the bunks acting as brakes...Your configuration will actually lift the boat off the bunks, making it slide more easily..

I think a quick and easy fix could be a heavy DOT rated chain (3/8" welded loop) from the rearward side of the trailer (behind the bow eye) to the eye itself. It wont be idiot proof, but better than what you have there IMHO..Just don't want to see all your hard work go to waste...

LOL, I think that's the first post of something TJ made that wasn't plated, powder coated or anodized before use.......

But I do agree. A chain will help you with this. The floater bar ties the boat to the trailer for pulling it out gently, then, it's main function is to resist any braking forces. Most of us.....I've seen a few that don't...... also strap it down to the trailer on the stern. Most boats have hooks for doing this, some (My Pickle) do not, so I strap it down across the jet pump.

You don't want to end up slamming the brakes and have this.........

No GT it didn't sound like an attack at all. It was exactly what I didn't see even after staring at it for a couple hours beers in hand

Sucks I already had the bedliner done, I will have to rig up that chain idea, I also have hooks at the back of the trailer that the stern eyelets will be strapped down to, so hopefully that will help a little as well. I knew all you guys must of seen something different that I didn't! I really dont want to lose my boat
